What's new in 0.10.0-beta.1

Invoicing

• Items. A new Items page for the products and services you sell, with a usual price, an income account and a sales tax setting. Choose an item on an invoice and everything fills in.
• Invoices as PDFs. Save any invoice or credit memo as a clean PDF with your logo, address, itemised lines, tax by agency and the balance due. Email saves the PDF and opens a new email to your customer in your own mail program. Set your logo and details under Settings, Company, Printed on invoices.
• Copy and correct. Copy starts a new invoice from an old one. Correct opens it for changes and voids the original when you save, in one step.
• Credit memos. Money owed back to a customer, with sales tax taken back correctly. Apply one to an open invoice (in whole or in part) or refund it. Credit memos also reduce the sales tax return worksheet.

Polish and fixes

• Statuses and journal sources now start with a capital (Paid, Applied, Import, Source).
• Entries made by credit memos, refunds and sales tax payments can no longer be reversed directly from the Journal, which could have left a document out of step with the books.

Please read before updating

This version upgrades the format of your books file, and the upgrade cannot be undone: an earlier Ledjoro cannot open books that this version has opened. Make a backup first (Settings, Data & Backup). From version 0.9.2, About, Check for Updates installs this release for you, and keeps your old program as a backup next to the new one.

Install

1. Download Ledjoro.exe below and save it somewhere you can write to (for example C:\Ledjoro, not Program Files).
2. Double-click it. There is no installer. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the program is not code-signed with a Windows certificate yet: click More info, then Run anyway.
3. Create your administrator account, then print or save the sign-in sheet. It holds your password and a one-time recovery key, and is shown only once.

Your books are kept in a Ledjoro-Data folder beside the program. To check the download yourself, compare its SHA-256 with Ledjoro.exe.sha256.

This is a beta

It works and has been tested a great deal, but it has not yet been used on many real companies and has not had an independent security review. Keep your own backups, and have an accountant look over your books before relying on them.

What's new in 0.9.2-beta.1

• Sales Tax (sidebar, under Sales). Set up tax rates, including combined rates such as state plus county, choose a rate on each invoice and tick which lines are taxable. Mark customers as tax-exempt. A Return Worksheet for any period shows taxable, exempt and non-taxable sales and the tax collected for each agency, with the tax due, ready to print and copy onto your return. A Payments tab records what you pay each agency.
• Signed updates. Check for Updates (About page) now installs a new version only if it carries Ledjoro's release signature. The signing key is kept offline, not on GitHub, so even a hijacked GitHub account could not push a bad update. Your old Ledjoro.exe is kept as a backup next to the new one.
• Request a Feature. A new button under About, Support emails your idea to info@tusivo.com.
• Fixed: pressing Check for Updates repeatedly made its box grow down the page. The Reconcile page's past-reconciliations list had the same flaw and is fixed too.

Updating from an earlier version: copy the new Ledjoro.exe over the old one with Ledjoro closed, or, once you are on a version with signed updates, use About, Check for Updates. Your books are not affected.
