I set up the nightly backup option with my Google Drive, but given how much space it is taking up, I wanted to stop it. I do not see a straightforward way in the settings menu to toggle it off.
What is the best way to stop the nightly backups?

Not sure if this is the "correct" way to handle this, but I ended up disabling the related timer and service on the Pi and then checking their status.

birdnet:~/BirdNET-Pi$ sudo systemctl disable --now bird-archive.timer
sudo systemctl stop bird-archive.service
Removed '/etc/systemd/system/timers.target.wants/bird-archive.timer'.

birdnet:~/BirdNET-Pi$ systemctl is-enabled bird-archive.timer
disabled
birdnet:~/BirdNET-Pi$ systemctl is-active bird-archive.timer
inactive
birdnet:~/BirdNET-Pi$ systemctl is-active bird-archive.service
inactive

I think that will do the trick.

thanks for sharing this here - will get on making it much clearer from the get go in the settings menu!

Is there a way to see the currently installed version number in the web UI?

[Twarner491]

not in the web UI yet, which is an oversight on my end - will add in release shortly!

in the meantime over SSH, this shows the release tag or commit you're running:

git -C ~/BirdNET-Pi describe --tags --always --dirty

Hi! Do you have another rec for an e-ink display? The one you've linked on Amazon seems to be gone and I don't know enough about them to ensure I'm picking the right kind 😅

[Twarner491]

hello! you can get the same 13.3-inch Inky Impression directly from Pimoroni. that's the one used in this build, and it's showing in stock right now :) - i'll also see if i can find another amazon link to update the article with
