๐Ÿš€ Performance (the big one)

  • macOS video pipeline rebuilt: decoding moved to AVSampleBufferDisplayLayer with zero-copy submission โ€” fixes judder, the multi-minute black screen on stream start, and a periodic render stutter; the layer now self-heals if it gets detached.
  • Windows video pipeline rebuilt: decode moved off the network thread (moonlight-qt style) and now renders through D3D11VA straight into the Vulkan renderer; fixed NVIDIA color artifacts.
  • Linux: real hardware decode (NVDEC / VA-API) with a GPU-native NV12 render path, instead of a slower software fallback.
  • PyroWave codec (low-latency, high-quality): zero-copy decode on Windows, native support on macOS (via MoltenVK) and Linux (via Vulkan), full 4:4:4 color and HDR end-to-end.
  • Net Graph HUD: now shows both GPU name and separate Encode/Decode timing instead of one blended number; fixed it freezing on macOS.
  • Jitter buffer toggle: smooths playback on unstable networks โ€” previously Windows-only, now available on macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android too (off by default on desktop, on by default on mobile, where connections are typically less stable).

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Multi-monitor & virtual displays

  • Virtual displays can now be set as the Main display, live, with a dedicated switch.
  • Windows hosts get a per-monitor On/Off switch right on the Devices screen โ€” covers physical monitors and the virtual display alike.
  • Fixed a crash when switching the captured video device/codec mid-stream, and the captured monitor now survives a codec or backend restart.

๐Ÿงฉ New streaming backend: Punktfunk

  • Added Punktfunk, a GameStream backend for Windows and Linux (GNOME and KDE/Wayland) โ€” its own benchmark mode, capture permissions, virtual display, and USB passthrough support, with signed auto-updates from Streamers-Forks.

๐Ÿ”Œ USB passthrough

  • New esp32-acm hardware dongle support for USB passthrough on macOS.
  • USB broker support extended to the Punktfunk and Sunshine backends.

๐ŸŽฎ Input

  • New Capture Mouse mode โ€” raw, OS-level relative mouse capture, matching native Moonlight behavior.
  • Per-model gamepad mapping on macOS, plus a DualShock 4 virtual-pad option.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Reliability

  • Fixed several stream-restart races and AI Vision stalls on Windows.
  • Agent now downloads and keeps Sunshine itself up to date on Windows (verified signed releases), instead of shipping a pinned copy.
  • Fixed iOS build/link issues, dropped an unnecessary config.yaml from the macOS installer, and assorted smaller stability fixes across platforms.
