AGSL GeoDiscovery 4.7.0

This release upgrades GeoDiscovery to GeoBlacklight 4.7.0 and incorporates the corresponding frontend package.

Changes

  • Adopt GeoBlacklight’s CARTO basemap configuration and API key support.
  • Remove local CARTO integration overrides that are now provided by GeoBlacklight.
  • Correct Solr query and phrase boosting for multivalued description, publisher, and identifier fields.
  • Update Node.js to 24.19.0 to match production.
  • Update current Ruby and JavaScript dependencies.
  • Run unit and system tests together in CI.
  • Improve CI coverage for GeoCombine harvesting, stale-record pruning, and transliterated title behavior.
  • Add planning guidance for a future GeoBlacklight 5 upgrade.

Deployment notes

Copy the updated solr/conf/solrconfig.xml into the deployed Solr core configuration and reload the core. A reindex is not required.

Set CARTO_BASEMAP_API_KEY in the deployed environment to enable the CARTO basemap without an API-key watermark.

GeoBlacklight 5 and GeoCombine 0.11 upgrades remain separate future work.
