Sutōrīraitā v0.1.2 pre-alpha
Sutōrīraitā v0.1.2 pre-alpha
Gemmell now helps you choose a tool through questions, and manuscript editing gains practical tools for rearranging and revising a story.
New in v0.1.2
- Gemmell Wizard, with clear explanations and examples. Use Gemmell wizard is a separate preference from export wizards and can restore the old tool lists.
- Discover encyclopedia entries for the current scene, current chapter, or entire manuscript. Prompt Bridge includes scene evidence and known aliases; suggestions are reviewed manually in your chatbot.
- Split scenes at the cursor; merge, duplicate, and multi-select scenes; duplicate chapters; move selected chunks to a specific chapter and position.
- Scene POV, location, fictional date/time, and status metadata.
- Literal project search/replace across scene and optional encyclopedia body text, with case/whole-word controls and undo.
- Encyclopedia aliases and backlinks that open and select the matching mention.
- Persistent trash/restore for scenes, chapters, and encyclopedia entries, plus session action undo/redo.
Also included from the unpublished v0.1.1 update
- Chapter drag grips; scene reordering and movement between chapters.
- Cover images in Project settings and PDF, EPUB, HTML, FB2, and ODT manuscript exports. Story-project transfers omit covers.
- Yes/No export wizards with an option to restore the original format lists.

Validation and compatibility
Application version is 0.1.2+7; native format remains 1 with optional new fields. Older app versions may discard new metadata and trash fields. Action undo history lasts for the current project session; trash persists across restarts and native backups.
Local validation: clean Flutter analysis, 83 passing tests, one optional external Hammer-fixture test skipped, and a successful Windows release build. All five platform jobs passed in GitHub Actions run 33957859980, built from commit 85b03fdfdbff36524c774d38fbe98f673964d854. OS-native picker/device checks have not been completed on every platform; see BUILDING.md.
This is a pre-alpha release. Keep independent project backups. Back up Android projects before uninstalling an older build: uninstalling removes app-private data. Existing release downloads remain unchanged.
Sutōrīraitā v0.1.0 pre-alpha — stories are no longer assumed to be linear prose
Stories are no longer assumed to be linear prose.
Sutōrīraitā v0.1.0 introduces a backward-compatible extensible document model. New projects can be Prose, Screenplay, or Interactive Fiction (Ink-style Story / Choice).
Screenplay MVP:
- Typed scene heading, action, character, dialogue, parenthetical, transition, shot, lyrics, and note elements
- Smart Enter transitions and Tab element cycling
- Character autocomplete and screenplay scene navigation
- Fountain import and export
Interactive Fiction MVP:
- Versioned Sōhōkō-sei intermediate representation
- CommonMark passages, visual node graph, choices, variables, conditions, assignments/effects, start and ending passages
- Built-in Play/Test flow
- Dead-link and unreachable-passage detection
- Generated Ink story export
This mode is Story / Choice fiction, not World / Parser fiction. Existing projects remain Prose and keep format compatibility. This is still pre-alpha software: keep backups and expect bugs, particularly on macOS and iOS. Android uses development signing; iOS is an unsigned app bundle requiring Apple signing and provisioning before installation.
Sutōrīraitā v0.0.4 pre-alpha
Sutōrīraitā v0.0.4 is the final planned pre-alpha update before v0.1.0.
- Makes the phone and tablet workspace responsive to small viewports, landscape orientation, safe areas, software keyboards, and enlarged text.
- Fixes the manuscript drawer button by opening the workspace Scaffold through its key.
- Replaces overflowing mobile Scene Editor and encyclopedia toolbars with compact actions and overflow menus while preserving the desktop layout.
- Makes project-list actions and encyclopedia section headers adapt on narrow screens.
- Adds widget tests at phone and tablet resolutions, including safe-area, keyboard, text-scaling, and drawer interaction coverage.
Existing project, Hammer, Novelist, import/export, and .sutoriraita formats remain compatible. This remains pre-alpha software: keep backups and expect bugs, especially on macOS and iOS. The Android APK uses development signing. The iOS artifact is unsigned and requires Apple signing/provisioning before installation.
v0.0.3 pre-alpha — Hammer and Novelist story transfer
v0.0.3 pre-alpha
Expect bugs. Keep independent backups; macOS and iOS remain untested or rarely tested interactively.
- Import Hammer dataVersion-2 story folders or ZIPs as independent copies, including Android SAF document trees. iOS uses ZIP import to preserve access correctly.
- Ask before importing detected desktop Documents/HammerProjects stories. Skipped/imported folders are remembered, and manual import remains available.
- Preserve Hammer manuscript order, encyclopedia, source notes, timeline, images and drafts.
- Export Hammer ZIP story folders and Novelist .nov backups from the compact Export story project dialog.
- Support Novelist version-4 and version-5 imports; keep native project format 1 unchanged.
Hammer ZIPs must be extracted into a new folder in HammerProjects. Novelist export simplifies advanced Markdown and does not include all native metadata; keep a .sutoriraita backup for a full copy.
Builds: Windows ZIP, macOS app ZIP, Linux tar.gz, Android development-signed APK, and unsigned iOS app ZIP. iOS requires Apple signing/provisioning and is not directly installable. Android development keys may differ between builds; back up before uninstalling.
Application source: c8b0d85.
CI: https://github.com/UniqueName54321/sutoriraita/actions/runs/33298451787
See README.md, BUILDING.md and CHANGELOG.md for usage, transfer limitations and verification details. The original supplied stories are not included in the repository or downloads.
Verification: all five CI jobs passed analysis, 39 tests and native release builds. The optional local Hammer-example check brings the local total to 40 passing tests. Local Windows/Android builds and downloaded Apple version metadata were verified. Real-device/provider and Hammer/Novelist interactive interoperability checks remain limited or unverified.
Sutoriraita v0.0.2 pre-alpha - compact project menus
Sutōrīraitā v0.0.2 pre-alpha — compact project menus
A separate update following v0.0.1. This release replaces the growing welcome-screen button row with three dropdown menus:
- New project: blank project or example story.
- Open: packed .sutoriraita project or existing project folder.
- Import: Markdown folder or Novelist story.
All existing actions remain available. Future creation and import options can be added inside these menus without expanding the welcome-screen row.
Version metadata is now 0.0.2+2 (build 2), including native application metadata and the in-app pre-alpha label. The project/container format remains version 1; no project migration is required. The v0.0.1 tag and downloads are unchanged.
This is still pre-alpha: expect bugs and keep independent backups. Native picker/provider UI flows have not been verified on devices, especially macOS and iOS.
Windows/Linux bundles include the per-user document registration scripts. Extract the full bundle before running them.
Android uses development signing; its CI key may differ from existing installations and prevent an in-place upgrade. Back up projects before any uninstall, which removes app-private data.
macOS is unnotarized. iOS is an unsigned .app archive, not a signed/installable IPA; Apple signing and provisioning are required.
The platform filenames include v0.0.2-pre-alpha, and SHA256SUMS accompanies the downloads.
Verification: CI run 33296789835 passed analysis, all 28 tests and release builds on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and unsigned iOS. Binaries were built from application commit 7f56160cc299bb88391450d7304f015052a39f0d; later release-preparation changes are documentation only. Windows, macOS and iOS version metadata was checked for 0.0.2/build 2.
Sutoriraita v0.0.1 pre-alpha
Sutōrīraitā v0.0.1 pre-alpha
This is an early pre-alpha. Expect bugs and keep independent backups, especially on macOS and iOS, which have not had interactive device testing in this release session.
- Android Open Folder now uses persisted Storage Access Framework grants and content-URI reads/writes, including recovery copies and portable export.
- Open Project uses the system picker for packed .sutoriraita ZIPs and creates independent editable library copies. The source archive is never rewritten by autosave.
- Native document launches are wired on Android, iOS and macOS; Windows/Linux accept system launch filenames and include registration scripts.
- Archive validation checks paths, duplicate names, sizes, format versions and checksums.
- Creation, save/reopen, recovery, import/export, and project-format behavior are covered by the regression suite.
Windows: extract the whole ZIP to a permanent folder and run register.ps1 to register the format for your user.
Linux: extract the tar.gz and run sh install.sh to register the bundle at that location.
Android: APK is signed with a development key for sideload testing, not Play Store distribution. Its key can differ from earlier/local builds, preventing an in-place upgrade. Back up projects before any uninstall, which removes app-private data.
macOS: app is unnotarized and has no Developer ID distribution signing.
iOS: unsigned .app archive only; Apple signing/provisioning is required to install it. This is not a signed IPA.
See BUILDING.md for prerequisites, signing requirements and the manual platform checklist. Native provider/picker UI flows still need device testing. Windows/Linux external opens use a new app instance; avoid simultaneous editing of one live folder.
Verification: CI run 33295809177 passed analysis, all 28 tests and native release builds for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and unsigned iOS. These binaries were built from application commit 3f0c72b3528e954dd492ff26d70ba5bab7538c9f; later release preparation changes only documentation and the manual asset-staging workflow, not application code. SHA256SUMS accompanies the downloads.
