1.1.0
New Features
- Quick dates. Up to four shortcut buttons sit under the calendar, next to Today. Choose from 18 presets or write your own rule in settings.
- Insert a date where there isn't one. The Pick a date command now works with the cursor anywhere, not only on an existing date. Uses the first format on your list.
- Open the calendar from a Tasks emoji. Click a ➕ 🛫 ⏳ 📅 ✅ ❌ in front of a date to open the picker.
Improvements
- Cleaned up the settings page. Each section now reads as one group, so finding a setting takes less hunting.
- A note when you switch off opening the calendar by mouse. Suggests the command palette instead.
1.0.0
New features
- Pick a date in place. Hover a date and click the calendar icon beside it, double-click it, or run Pick a date with the cursor on it. The day you pick is written back in the format the date already used, as a single undo step.
- Ten built-in formats, plus your own. Formats are an ordered list and the first match claims a date, which is what settles 03/09/2026 being both March and September. Custom patterns use moment tokens, validated as you type, and a pattern that can't be read back reliably is refused.
- Conflict warnings. When one format always beats another to its dates, settings says so and tells you whether to move it, drop it, or leave it.
- Choose what gets scanned. Body text always, headings by default, and frontmatter, inline code, code blocks and wikilinks off until you switch them on. A worked example shows what each toggle takes in.
- Calendar options. Week numbers, the first day of the week (starting from your own region's), and a line showing the exact text a pick will write.
- Nothing moves in your note. The icon and the hover outline are drawn out of flow, so no text shifts when the pointer crosses a date.
- Keyboard throughout. Arrows move a day or a week, Page up and Page down a month, with Shift a year. Enter picks, Escape closes.
- 13 languages. Follows whatever Obsidian is set to: English, Deutsch, Español, Eesti, Français, 日本語, 한국어, Lietuvių, Latviešu, Português, Русский, Українська, 中文.
Compatibility
- Requires Obsidian 1.13.0 or newer.
- Works in Source mode and Live Preview. Reading mode is not supported, by design.
- Dates only. Times aren't recognised yet.
