This is the first open-source release of FastFileViewer, an offline macOS workspace for quickly browsing images, documents, source code, structured data, and archive contents.
Highlights
- Browse local folders incrementally in a unified content tree.
- Open supported files inside ZIP, TAR, TGZ, and TAR.GZ archives without extracting them first.
- Preview common image formats, plain text, Markdown, JSON, CSV, TSV, configuration files, and source code.
- Render Markdown, syntax-highlight code, browse collapsible JSON trees, and search or sort CSV/TSV tables.
- Use a three-pane workspace with persistent pinned folders, filtering, batch loading, and cancellable operations.
- Export multiple selected files, calculate SHA-256 checksums, and detect byte-identical duplicates.
- Persist library indexes and thumbnails locally for faster relaunches.
- Use Traditional Chinese, English, or Japanese interfaces.

This release binary is ad-hoc signed and is not notarized by Apple. macOS Gatekeeper may block the downloaded application. For maximum trust and compatibility, review the source code and build FastFileViewer locally by following the README instructions.
Privacy and License
All content processing stays on the Mac. FastFileViewer does not execute displayed source code or raw Markdown HTML and does not load remote Markdown resources.
FastFileViewer is available under GNU GPLv3, with a separate commercial-license option. Third-party components remain subject to their own license terms; the DMG includes the complete notices and license texts.
