Backplane platform 0.1.3-preview.1

This preview collects interface fixes published to source since 0.1.2-preview.2 and includes the MCP server 0.9.0 source.

  • Mention notifications show their target and link to it; linked notes reopen from their deep link.
  • Frontend deployments keep previously built assets, so open pages no longer go blank after an upgrade, and failed page loads recover.
  • The card detail panel lists notes linked to the card and shows its branch name.
  • Binding a loop template announces when the board's done gate will be relaxed for self-merge loops; re-rendering a template never relaxes it.
  • Spanish translations restore their accents and diacritics.
  • CI checks that the diagram renderer stays out of eagerly loaded frontend bundles.
  • DOMPurify is updated to 3.4.16 for a low-severity sanitizer advisory.

The platform source bundle includes the production Compose configuration and installation documentation. Verify SHA256SUMS and unpack the archive. From inside the extracted directory, copy .env.example to .env, set POSTGRES_PASSWORD and OAUTH_STATE_SIGNING_KEY, and run docker compose -f docker-compose.prod.yml up -d. Open http://localhost:8080 to create the first administrator account.

Existing installations should back up their database and uploaded files before upgrading. This release adds no database migrations. Upgrade the backend before upgrading runners.

See Self-hosting for configuration and troubleshooting. Platform, runner, and MCP releases have independent version sequences. Runner 0.8.5 remains current. MCP server 0.9.0, already on PyPI, includes 0.8.1's optional default board from VALARIS_DEFAULT_* environment variables and create_workspace slug validation, and replaces per-call mcp_session executions with optional invocation records. This platform release does not store those records: the server skips them and every tool keeps working. Its locked dependencies include the patched PyJWT 2.15.1 and urllib3 2.8.0.

This preview intentionally retains 15 screenshot placeholders in the in-app guides. Their descriptions explain the intended views; they are not captured product screenshots.

This remains a preview release. Runners are experimental; hosted deployment and end-user environment qualification are separate from source and packaging checks.

Backplane Runner 0.8.5

This release adds bounded recovery for failed independent completion reviews.

  • A compatible backend can assign one correction attempt to the configured source agent, with the failed card, candidate, and review finding included in its context. Existing iteration, timeout, and budget limits still apply.
  • Failed candidates remain unaccepted and dependent work stays blocked. Corrected evidence requires an explicit fresh review; changed source requires a new candidate. Unresolved correction attempts return to operator inspection instead of repeating unchanged review work.
  • Recovery logs include the candidate, failure finding, and recovery action. The runner can find recovery work across paginated completion results.
  • Updates OpenTelemetry and related dependencies.

Upgrade the backend before upgrading the runner. Platform and runner releases have independent version sequences; MCP server 0.8.0 remains unchanged. Runners remain experimental.

Compatible launch distributions: platform 0.1.2-preview.2 and MCP server 0.8.0. Native downloads cover macOS, Linux, and Windows on amd64 and arm64; verify them with SHA256SUMS. The container supports Linux amd64 and arm64 and includes Claude Code and Codex CLI. Authenticate the providers you configure before running work.

Backplane platform 0.1.2-preview.2

This preview adds immutable skill revision provenance and audit history, and includes the completion-review recovery fix published since the previous archive.

  • Skill revisions retain their source identity and audit history across edits and approvals. Authorized callers can inspect revision history through the API.
  • Failed completion reviews can return work to bounded source rework instead of leaving the original work stalled. Runner support is required for the new recovery path.
  • Public examples use generic repository names and local paths.

Database migration 108 adds skill revision provenance and audit records and runs automatically at startup. Upgrade the backend before upgrading runners.

See Self-hosting for configuration and troubleshooting. Platform, runner, and MCP releases have independent version sequences. Runner 0.8.5 includes completion-review recovery and updated telemetry dependencies. MCP server 0.8.0 remains unchanged.

This preview intentionally retains 15 screenshot placeholders in the in-app guides. Their descriptions explain the intended views; they are not captured product screenshots.

This remains a preview release. Runners are experimental; hosted deployment and end-user environment qualification are separate from source and packaging checks.

Backplane platform 0.1.1-preview.1

This preview improves first-install reliability and mobile navigation.

  • Failed attachment uploads no longer create successful-looking attachment records. The reverse proxy accepts uploads up to the documented limit.
  • PostgreSQL passwords containing URL-reserved characters work without manually encoding credentials.
  • Dependency updates address reported security advisories. Database transactions finish before a successful API response is sent.
  • Cold database restore instructions wait for PostgreSQL readiness and identify the correct storage volume.
  • Mobile navigation keeps account controls reachable and groups utility actions into an accessible menu.

These steps build the selected release directly from the archive.

See Self-hosting for configuration and troubleshooting. Existing installations should back up the database and uploaded files before upgrading.

Runner 0.8.4 and MCP server 0.8.0 remain unchanged; this release does not republish them. Platform, runner, and MCP releases have independent version sequences.

This remains a preview release. Hosted deployment and end-user environment qualification are separate from source and packaging checks.
