Smart HDR Manager 2.5.2 (Beta)
Pre-releaseBug-fix update – thanks for the first issue report and all the feedback!
Fixes
- 🎮 Games with a launcher now switch HDR (#1): The Witcher 3 from GOG registers its launcher (REDprelauncher.exe) instead of the game, so the app watched the launcher and never saw the game. Launchers are now skipped and the real game exe is used. Your HDR setting for the game is kept.
- 🛟 Launcher safety net: if a game in your list closes within a few seconds, HDR stays on while the app waits (up to 45 s) for the real game from the same folder – it follows it and remembers it for next time.
- 🚪 Back to SDR when you exit the app (tray › Exit), if the app turned HDR on. HDR that was already on, or a game that is still running, is left alone.
- ⌨️ Win+Alt+I with a browser in front no longer excludes the browser for good.
Videos
- ⏸️ Pausing a video no longer switches HDR off – update the browser script to 3.1 (optional, 3.0 keeps working).
- ⏱️ Back to SDR after the video stops can now be set up to 5 minutes (Settings › Videos / RTX Video HDR).
- 🎞️ SDR for this video in the tray menu (or Win+Alt+I with the browser / player in front): this one video stays in SDR, others switch as usual.
Also
- Several exes per game are watched (e.g. DX11 / DX12 versions).
- The log shows the real Windows version.
- The log file is no longer deleted when the app starts (a large log now moves to log.old.txt).
- README: FAQ ("Why not just leave HDR on?", "HDR switches too often for videos"), and a bug report form on GitHub.

Only for Windows on ARM (Snapdragon) – experimental, untested. Normal PCs: take x64. |
Updating from 2.5.x: exit the app (tray › Exit), replace the files in your folder, start it again – settings and games are kept. The first start re-detects your games once (the log lists any game whose exe changed).
Browser script: optional update to 3.1 (keeps HDR while a video is paused). Tampermonkey dashboard › click the script › replace the text with the new file › save.
