LucyLive v1.0.4 Preview

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@VantageInc VantageInc released this 10 Aug 23:05
9438e48

LucyLive v1.0.4 keeps realtime Cinema 4D viewport updates stable without changing the familiar workflow.

What changed

  • Realtime viewport refresh now stays active internally while a session is running.
  • The automatic pause happens after 20 seconds without a real Cinema 4D viewport change. Unchanged safety refreshes and a held mouse do not extend the session.
  • Large camera changes no longer trigger hidden worker/WebRTC reconnects. Use Reset when you intentionally want a fresh AI context.
  • Camera, object, character, and timeline movement can continue through the same live session.

Install

Download the ZIP for your platform below. Do not use GitHub Source code archives; they do not contain the bundled dependency wheels. Full installation steps are in the repository README.

Windows is the verified platform. The Apple Silicon build remains an experimental preview for macOS 14+ and must run natively without Rosetta.

Verification

  • 337 tests completed successfully: 314 passed and 23 platform-gated tests were skipped outside Cinema 4D.
  • Checksums are attached in SHA256SUMS.txt.

LucyLive v1.0.3 Preview

This update makes the realtime Cinema 4D preview more dependable during camera, object, and character movement.

Downloads

  • LucyLive-v1.0.3-preview-windows.zip — Windows 10/11, 64-bit
  • LucyLive-v1.0.3-preview-macos-apple-silicon.zip — Apple Silicon, macOS 14+, experimental preview
  • SHA256SUMS.txt — checksums for both archives

Please install from the release ZIP for your platform. GitHub source archives do not contain dependency wheels.

What changed

  • Camera, object, and character-controller movement now refreshes while the mouse remains held.
  • Realtime rendering resumes reliably after the twenty-second idle pause.
  • Final released transforms are refreshed instead of leaving the preview on an older scene state.
  • Geometry Only, Clean Feed, Redshift viewport materials, Save Frame, REC, and Render Frames retain their existing behavior.
  • The public repository is smaller and no longer stores dependency wheels or unused promotional media.
  • The Apple Silicon preview is included alongside the Windows build.

Verification

  • 328 automated tests pass under Cinema 4D 2026's bundled Python 3.11 on Windows.
  • Windows realtime drag behavior passed a physical Cinema 4D smoke test.
  • The Apple Silicon build still requires full workflow validation on a physical Mac.
  • Both platform archives rebuild deterministically and contain only their own dependency bundle.

LucyLive v0.2.2 Preview

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@VantageInc VantageInc released this 01 Aug 15:56
becd58e

LucyLive v0.2.2 Preview

LucyLive is a realtime 3D-to-AI creative preview plugin for Cinema 4D.

Version 0.2.2 is an experimental held-drag latency build. Interactive Hardware
Preview renders directly from LucyLive's already-isolated private snapshot,
avoiding a redundant Cinema 4D document clone which can wait for mouse release.

Downloads

  • LucyLive-v0.2.2-preview-windows.zip - 64-bit Windows 10/11
  • LucyLive-v0.2.2-preview-macos-apple-silicon.zip - Apple Silicon,
macOS 14 or newer, experimental preview
  • SHA256SUMS.txt - SHA-256 checksums for both archives

What changed

  • Isolated interactive captures use RENDERFLAGS_NODOCUMENTCLONE so
RenderDocument does not create a second document snapshot while the native
    Move tool owns the viewport.
  • Non-isolated documents retain Cinema 4D's internal clone guard.
  • Interactive snapshot ownership remains single-flight: the snapshot is never
synchronized while its render thread owns it.
  • Object, controller, joint, and character movement rebuilds expressions and
geometry/deformer caches in the isolated snapshot before Hardware Preview,
so Skin, constraints, deformers, and generators do not retain the settled
    pose.
  • Move-tool object and tag dirtiness may propagate across Skin, constraint,
and generator dependencies whose own matrix stays fixed. It is accepted
during an explicit selected-object transform; parameter or tag edits without
that transform, plus materials, shaders, and topology, still invalidate the
    snapshot.
  • Camera-only movement bypasses private pose evaluation and keeps the direct
    low-latency path.
  • A failed private pose evaluation is discarded and cannot publish a stale
    frame.
  • Mouse release still creates a fresh authoritative private clone for the final
    clean source frame.
  • One bounded drag trace is buffered in memory and saved only on explicit
    mouse release at Preferences/lucy_live/last_drag_trace.json.
  • The trace contains scheduler, snapshot-cache, render-thread, publication, and
source-revision timing only. It contains no prompts, keys, scene paths, or
    image content.

Requirements

Windows

  • 64-bit Windows 10 or 11
  • Cinema 4D 2024-2026 with Python 3.11

Apple Silicon Mac

  • Apple Silicon Mac
  • macOS 14 or newer
  • Cinema 4D 2024-2026 with Python 3.11
  • Cinema 4D running natively with Open using Rosetta disabled

The Apple Silicon package remains an experimental preview until the complete
workflow is validated on physical Apple Silicon hardware.

Install or update

  1. Download the archive for your platform and extract it.
  2. Put the complete LucyLive folder inside a folder used for Cinema 4D
plugins, replacing the previous LucyLive folder when updating.
  3. In Cinema 4D, open Edit -> Preferences -> Plugins, click Add Folder,
    and select that plugins folder.
  4. Restart Cinema 4D and open Extensions -> AI Render.
  5. Open Settings..., click Install deps, and wait for completion.
  6. Restart Cinema 4D, enter or restore the API key, and click Start.
  7. Click Stop when finished to close the billable realtime session.

Verification

  • 316 automated tests pass with zero skips under Cinema 4D 2026's bundled
    Python 3.11 runtime on Windows.
  • Geometry Only, Clean Feed, Redshift viewport materials, Save Frame, REC,
Render Frames, installers, and platform isolation pass regression tests.
  • The Windows, Apple Silicon, expanded development, and public archives rebuild
    deterministically.
  • Held camera, object, and character-controller movement has passed a physical
Cinema 4D smoke test on Windows. A dedicated deformer-handle smoke test
remains recommended as an additional compatibility check.

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@VantageInc VantageInc released this 29 Jul 19:17
d74ebc6

LucyLive v0.1.1 Preview

LucyLive is a realtime 3D-to-AI creative preview plugin for Cinema 4D.

This update registers LucyLive with its permanent Maxon Plugin Café ID and
includes stability and capture improvements made since v0.1.0.

What changed

  • Registered the permanent plugin ID 1069521 under LucyLiveAIRender.
  • Kept Geometry Only and Clean Feed active while objects are moved.
  • Preserved Redshift node-material previews in captured source frames.
  • Fixed Render Frames so every Loop Range frame uses its evaluated animation.
  • Prevented a native DirectX crash during Hardware Preview frame rendering.
  • Increased the automatic idle-pause delay from 10 to 20 seconds.

Requirements

  • 64-bit Windows 10 or 11
  • Cinema 4D 2024–2026 with Python 3.11
  • Internet access
  • A compatible fal.ai API key, model access, and account balance

Install or update

  1. Download LucyLive-v0.1.1-preview-windows.zip.
  2. Extract the archive.
  3. Remove the previous LucyLive plugin folder if it has a different name or
location. Do not keep two LucyLive copies in Cinema 4D's plugin paths.
  4. Copy the complete LucyLive folder into your Cinema 4D plugins folder.
  5. Restart Cinema 4D and open Extensions → AI Render.
  6. If prompted, open Settings…, click Install deps, and restart
    Cinema 4D when installation finishes.

Because v0.1.1 changes from the preview identifier to the permanent plugin ID,
Cinema 4D may require you to dock the panel again once. LucyLive settings and
the saved API key are stored separately and should remain available.

Cloud processing and cost

Prompts, viewport frames, and optional reference images are sent to external
cloud services. fal.ai pricing may change, so check the current
Lucy 2.5 page before use.

Preview notes

  • This build uses the permanent Maxon Plugin Café ID.
  • The plugin currently targets Windows and is not packaged for macOS.
  • AI output is generative and is not a frame-deterministic final renderer.
  • See the repository README for privacy, API-key, compatibility, and licensing
    details.
