VerifiedX CLI Release v7.0.0

MANDATORY UPGRADE — all validators, casters, and wallets must be on v7.0.0.

This is the first mainnet release built from the renamed VerifiedXCore project and it is a consensus-behavior release. Nodes running v6.x are rejected at the consensus handshake and will stop following the chain. Six new consensus rules activate together at block 7,281,000; any node still on an older binary at that height will fork off.

Your data directory is unchanged (RBX), so no migration is required. Pull the new binary, stop the node with a clean /exit, and start the new build in place.

Consensus & Caster Network

  • Cooperative seed bootstrap: seeds only restart a halted chain after a signed 2-of-3 agreement on the same tip hash. No more solo bootstraps.
  • Caster membership records: hash-chained, majority-signed committee records, auto-armed at the coordinated restart. Block certificates enforced from the record's effective height.
  • Deterministic fork choice (certificate weight → height → lowest hash) and a fork-resolution path that rewrites the stalled-node recovery loop.
  • Split-guard: legacy quorum floor, closed caster pending window, and a validator-side 2-caster commit gate.
  • Graceful caster departure via /depart, dynamic caster discovery, and add-only healing of evicted casters that come back.
  • Fixed per-round winner-block rejections (certificate attached before local commit) and the promote/demote flap caused by stale committee views.
  • Seed casters now exit the startup sync loop on a halted mainnet so bootstrap can begin.

P2P & Stability

  • Stopped peer/validator connection churn: failed dials back off, failed hub connections are disposed, and the reconnect loop is throttled.
  • Crash detection for non-atomic block/state commits, with rotating 10-block snapshots and snapshot restore replacing the 45-minute full state rebuild.
  • State trie integrity check at startup and config repair on startup.
  • Tests project excluded from publish output.

vBTC

  • V2 multi-contract transfer: send from N contracts in a single transaction.
  • Withdrawal hardening: FROST failure codes, redesigned withdrawal tracker, outpoint-conflict guard, Electrum failover, expiry fixes, and recovery for stuck BTC UTXOs.
  • Corrected owner balance formula (deposit + full ledger + all completed withdrawals), store rebuild from chain, and burn-row recovery.
  • Reserve accounts can now hold vBTC V2 as a cold vault, with deferred apply, callback, and recovery seizure.
  • Default-asset-only mode for vBTC V2 contracts.
  • Wallet restore fixes: HD mnemonic gap-limit scan, key-import owner/minter fix, reserve restore, and smart-contract restore for the renamed project.
  • Legacy type-name binder so pre-rename local databases load without intervention.

Bridge & Security

  • SignValidatorUpdate is authenticated and gated on independently-detected sync actions.
  • Validators authorize every FROST signing start against consensus state; round messages are leader-authenticated.
  • Pool unlocks and exits are bound to committee votes and the real Base burn; burn hashes are single-use.

Upgrade Notes

  • Use /exit (or /depart on casters) to stop. A hard kill triggers state probation on the next start, which self-heals but is slower.
  • Casters should come up one at a time; validators in batches. Confirm Health is green before adding more.
  • Mempool contents are not persisted across the restart.
