EnableModUpdateChecker v0.12
Fixes:
- March can now be understood from "Mrz" in addition to "März"
- Added explicit time zone offset to GET headers so steam should always report UTC
Added verbose logging (uses mod:info normally, or mod:echo if VMF developer mode is enabled)
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.11
- Fix crash when the result of
get_modis assigned to a different variable name thanmod.
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.10
Fixes:
- Include the MUC_fail localization table even if the update checker is run with the
-nochatflag
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.9
Include the ability for mods to manually check for updates later on.
- Set up a callback by calling
mod.register_MUC_callback(func) - Manually check for updates by calling
mod.MUC_check_for_update(). This will make the curl request and invoke any registered callbacks when done. The callbacks are given a boolean parameter, representing whether or not the current version is up to date.
Example usage:
mod.on_all_mods_loaded = function()
mod.register_MUC_callback(function(up_to_date)
if up_to_date then
mod:echo("You have the latest version of mod")
else
mod:echo("There is a more recent version of mod")
end
end
end
mod:command("checkformodupdate", "Check to see if there is a more recent version of mod", function()
mod.MUC_check_for_update()
end)
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.8
Do not output chat message if the update checker fails when -nochat flag was used.
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.7
Add -nochat flag to exe to make it not output anything to the player's chat.
Add -alwayschat flag to exe to make it also output to the player's chat when they are up-to-date on the mod.
These two new flags are mutually exclusive.
Also include the pcall change I claimed to add in the previous release.
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.6
Add possible abbreviations for months that we read from Steam, and wrap the added code in a pcall so it can't cause crashes.
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.5
Remove MUC lines instead of restoring file backup This way, the user is free to make changes without fear of losing what they did when they manually run MUC -cleanup (even though that is not a common use case). Backups of the scripts which we touch will now be stored in the MUC_Backup folder. Modified and unmodified backups will be kept individually for both files. 99% of what could go wrong is only possible if the user is running the exe manually instead of via a script which runs it twice in quick succession.
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.4
Go back to appending text instead of overwriting This was a blunder in my previous efforts. We do *not* want to remove all the modder's hard work, we just want to append to it!
EnableModUpdateChecker v0.2
Improved flexibility of adding code to localization file, and improved error output.
