@Vesta-Agent Vesta-Agent released this 10 Oct 19:19

Vesta Agent 1.5.1

  • Settings reorganised: the most important sections come first, in clear groups (Setup, Agents & tools, Devices & connections, Data & security, Help).
  • API key guide: Settings > Model & API now has a step-by-step guide for Gemini (AI Studio), OpenRouter, xKiro, DeepSeek and Ollama, how to paste and test a key, multiple keys with automatic failover, VPN/proxy notes for Iran and common errors (English and Persian).
  • First-run tour: a short spotlight walkthrough of the main parts of the app. Skip it any time and re-open it from Settings > Guide.
  • Agents send files: on desktop, agents can put files they created into the chat; images show as a preview, other files as a download.
  • Backup & restore stays available in Settings > Backup & restore (encrypted with your password, optional API keys).

Windows 10/11, Windows 7/8 and Android.

Vesta Agent 1.5.0

Smarter device control

  • Android: agents read the screen's elements (buttons, text fields, switches, lists) and click, type and scroll them by name or id, with a fallback to taps when an app draws its own UI.
  • Browser: agents target page elements by number, selector, role (for example a button named "Sign in"), visible text or a field's label.
  • Plan, act, check: for multi-step tasks the agent makes a short plan, looks at the result after every action, notices when nothing changed and tries a different way (up to 3 times) before asking you.
  • Better understanding of short requests, while purchases, payments and messages to other people still need your approval.

Fixes

  • "Update now" in the update window did nothing on some devices. It now downloads and installs the update, or opens the direct download if the in-app install is not possible.

Windows 10/11, Windows 7/8 and Android. Linux stays on 1.4.1 for now.

Vesta Agent 1.4.1

@Vesta-Agent Vesta-Agent released this 09 Oct 23:42

Vesta Agent 1.4.1

A fix release for phone control on Android, plus new help links.

Fixed

  • Phone control on Android (phone only mode): after turning on Vesta Agent in Android Settings > Accessibility, agents still answered that they had no access to the phone. The phone tools were only given to agents with a hidden per-agent switch turned on, which was off by default.
    • Phone control now works for every agent as soon as Accessibility is on.
    • Settings > Phone control has a switch to turn it off for all agents, and the agent editor has one per agent.
    • Agents are told clearly that they can use the phone, and start by taking a screenshot.
    • Settings > Phone control no longer says "Needs your computer" in phone only mode.

New

  • Settings > About & Security: links to the website (vesta-agent.github.io) and to support on Telegram (@VestaAgentSupportBot), in all languages.

My Agent 1.3.0

@Vesta-Agent Vesta-Agent released this 09 Oct 11:55

My Agent 1.3.0

Android: this APK is signed with the same release key as 1.2.0, so it installs over 1.2.0 normally. From 1.3 on, the app updates itself from inside the app.

Fixed

  • Voice calls work. In 1.2 a call often did nothing at all. There were six causes, and all are fixed:

    • Speech-to-text only used the chat provider. On OpenRouter or xAI there was none, and the browser fallback does not exist in Android or Linux WebViews.
    • Android had no spoken replies.
    • The Linux app blocked the microphone.
    • One busy-server error ended the call.
    • A used-up free model quota was fatal.
    • With no main key, the key pool was ignored.

Now speech runs through any saved key that supports it (Gemini, Groq, OpenAI, Mistral, OpenRouter). Busy errors are retried silently, and the next model takes over when a quota runs out. Android uses the phone's own voice and speech recognition when needed.

  • Voice in any language. The spoken language is detected automatically and the agent replies in the same language. The voice matches each sentence's language: a device voice, or a natural provider voice when the device has none (for example Persian). The call screen has a language switch for manual choice.

  • Android layout. The app no longer opens as a zoomed-out desktop page. Every screen fits phones (checked at 360x800 and 412x915) and right-to-left languages.

  • Sending images works, also in phone-only mode. Large photos are scaled down automatically.

New

  • Languages: English, فارسی, العربية, Türkçe, Deutsch, Français, Español, Русский, 中文 and हिन्दी. The app follows your device language by default, and Persian and Arabic display right-to-left.
  • In-app updates: a popup shows the new version and what changed, with "Update now" (progress bar) or "Later". Desktop updates are signature-checked. Android and Windows 7/8 downloads are verified against SHA256SUMS. The app checks at start-up and then every few hours.
  • Multiple API keys with automatic failover: when a key runs out, the next one continues the task exactly where it stopped. You also get per-key usage, quota warnings, and a "Recommend the best" order that considers what works from Iran.
  • Multiple models per agent, with a recommendation.
  • Personality: presets plus humor and detail sliders.
  • Agent templates: programmer, translator, language teacher, secretary, researcher, writer, server admin and chat buddy.
  • Long-term memory, with a Settings page to view, add and delete memories.
  • Group chats where agents take turns, with limits so they cannot loop forever. Risky actions still ask you.
  • Chat tools:
    • automatic chat titles you can rename
    • pin chats and sort them into folders
    • export as text, Markdown or PDF
    • edit a message or regenerate an answer, keeping every version
    • read aloud
    • source links under answers
  • Prompt library (Ctrl+Shift+L) and a Scheduled tasks page.
  • Attachments: images, video, audio and documents, with previews and size limits. Android adds a camera button.
  • Agent cursor: you can see where the agent clicks, in the agent's own color. It appears as an overlay on the desktop and through the accessibility service on Android, and never blocks your own mouse.
  • Offline fallback: when the internet is down and Ollama runs on your computer, the agent switches to the local model.
  • Tablet layout: chat list and chat side by side.
  • About page: made by the SOBi team.

Faster and safer

  • Speed: first load on a phone is 34% faster, with 44% less data (gzip and parallel loading). Voice-call replies start much sooner (low thinking for spoken turns). Details in docs/PERF-1.3.md.
  • Security review (docs/SECURITY-REVIEW-1.3.md):
    • self-updates fail closed if a download can't be verified
    • the calculator no longer evaluates code
    • export file names are sanitized
    • long-term memory only learns from your own messages
