Changes

Updated to work with the September 22nd update. Additionally, the mod is now officially open source for anyone who would like to inspect or modify the code in any way. You can see the rest of the fixes and improvements below.

Bug Fixes & Improvements:

  • Fixed a bug that could cause the mod to not focus on the "onward" button in the Farmstead.
  • (spoilers) In the final darkest dungeon, fixed a bug with the "Come Unto Me" ability, now allowing you to choose a party member.
  • The roster portrait icons for shard mercenaries and Characters with the "Never Again" quirk are now spoken as text.
  • You can now view character sheets of character's that are being offered as part of a town event.
  • Hero barks, combat effects, and subtitles are now normal polite announcements, eliminating the artificial delay entirely.
  • improved information about item effects you have discovered when using items to interact with curios. It no longer tells you an item you haven't tried yet works, and for one that you have used before, it will tell you the effect, parodying the icons sighted players see.
  • Added the quest info panel to the provisions screen, reachable by pressing tab. It will show you the selected dungeon, difficulty, length, and your party's scouting chance. You can view the tooltip on scouting chance to see how it was calculated. If you have the Crimson Court DLC enabled and have visited the courtyard, then it will also report how many wasting heroes are left in town, so you can leave enough blood for them.

Localization

  • Full language support: Brazillian Portuguese, Chinese, Czech, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian. These were all AI generated and there are likely issues, so please let me know.
    improve them.
  • Some fixes to the French translation
  • If you would like to contribute to the translation effort, you can find a "lang" folder in the source code that contains plain text files for the different languages.

GOG/DRM-free support

The Steam installation actually contains a DRM free copy, which should be the same version GOG uses. I added a second table to reference the addresses in that version, so the mod can read it. I haven't purchased the game on GOG to test, but hypothetically, it should work. The installer and launcher should also automatically locate the GOG version. If you test the GOG version, feedback is greatly appreciated.

Changes

Butcher's Circus Support

The Butcher's Circus is now fully supported. See the readme for more info on the circus menu and multiplayer gameplay, but below is a short summary.

The mod allows you to:

  • customize your banner with unlocked rewards in the banner designer.
  • Challenge other players to private matches in the Dueling Grounds
  • View unlocked and future prestige rewards in the Prizebox
  • Check your rank and match history in the Rankings Board.
  • Select, customize, and equip your party with trinkets.
  • Complete matches against other players or practice against AI opponents.

Mod Settings:

  • Added a toggle to disable automatically checking for updates.
  • Barks can now be set to only read in town, dungeons, or be turned off completely. This and subtitles were moved to "Announcements"
  • New speech category lets you manually configure which speech handler or prism back end is used, as well as configure SAPI's voice, rate, and volume.

Bug Fixes & Improvements:

  • Fixed a bug causing enemy skills to remain hidden when they should have been revealed
  • Fixed a bug that made serious negative quirks appear as locked in on the sanitarium screen.
  • Fixed secret doors (hopefully for good)
  • The mod no longer blocks recruitment of shard mercenaries if your roster is full.
  • Inside a room, shift+D and Shift+A now move you forward/back to within reach of any curios or treasure in the room with you, making it easier to find them if they are no longer on screen.
  • Walking into a room now gives an announcement to tell you what is in the room, similar to what you hear when moving across tiles in a hallway.

Localization

  • Now fully ssupports French and Spanish. Huge thanks to Arcandius for the French translation. Spanish and German were written by AI, so feedback from native sspeakers is appreciated.
  • Fixed a few spots where hard-coded English translations were being used for things which use localized game text elsewhere. Namely with gold and heirlooms. There may be more, so let me know if you come across any.

@Vicorin Vicorin released this 04 Sep 11:40

Changes:

Prism Conversion and Speech:

  • Swapped speech libraries from Tolk to Prism. The mod package is now just the mod DLL, Prism, and the launcher. You can delete the stand-alone NVDA and SAPI controllers and any Tolk files in your library by selecting "uninstall" in the installer.
  • Now supports other windows screen-readers, such as ZDSR, and paves the way for Mac/Linux compatibility in a future update.
  • Made some more refinements to how combat announcements are cued to reduce artificial silence.

General UI improvements

  • The mod now announces how many blueprints you have when you enter the districts menu.
  • Added uses per battle and valid requirements for skills that have them to their tooltips. (e.g. the flagellant's exsanguinate ability now says it has 3 uses per battle and is valid when the flagellant has 0-40% hp remaining).
  • Combat and camping skills are now executed by synthesizing an actual click on-screen, so they'll never fire when the game normally wouldn't allow them to.
  • Announcements for movement in combat (e.g. "Bob moved to rank 3"). I also changed the wording everywhere else to rank because it is more concise than "position.
  • More information on quirks: You'll here if a positive quirk is locked and if a negative quirk is serious. New quirks are identified the first time you read them, along with what quirk they replaced, if any.
  • Assigning heroes to town activities or the party now uses the actual roster, so it's sortable.
  • Hero status in the roster is now more descriptive and accurate. It tells you which activity each hero is committed to that week or if they are missing, rather than just saying "unavailable".
  • Home and End now jump you to the first/last item inthe current menu/context.
  • The mod now reads the controls screen from the pause menu, so you can see a list of native keyboard shortcuts.
  • When near a trap, disarm chance is spoken when you swap heroes with q/e.

Combat Tooltips

  • Hero tooltips were fixed to show all of the information available on the visual status panel and remove information that was not present. This includes all 7 main stats, your resistances, trinkets, and equipment. It also means removing quirks, which are only visible on the character sheet.
  • Enemy tooltips got the same visual check, which mostly means enemy skills no longer give exact numbers, just general icons for effects they inflict.
  • Hero/enemy tooltips were split into three different sections, navigable with ctrl + arrow keys. (Stats, Resistances, and equipment/trinkets (heroes) or Skills (enemies).
  • Instead of being listed randomly, buffs/debuffs are now listed alongside the relevant stat or resistance.
  • Damage- and stress-over-time effects are now listed on their own individual lines, along with other status effects.

bug fixes:

  • Curios and obstacles in hallways no longer say "visited" before the party steps onto them.
  • Fixed secret doors for real this time. I was missing the proper check to determine if a secret door was visible or not, so it would appear on the map and in tile announcements even if it had not been successfully scouted.
  • Named a few remaining generic buffs/debuffs.
  • Fixed a map panning bug that was causing scouting to sound more than it should.
  • You can now change your selected camping skills from the character sheet with the enter key.
  • The survivalist now shows the three shared camping skills (encourage, wound care, and pep talk) instead of only the class-specific ones. You can purchase and unlock all of them now.
  • While viewing resources on the embark screen, pressing escape will return you to the embark screen instead of exiting back to the Hamlet.

Color of Madness DLC (minor spoilers

  • You can now see which quest region the Thing from the Stars is roaming in each week.
  • Added comet shards to the resource bar and as an announcement when you enter the jeweler (found inside the nomad wagon by presssing right arrow, after completing the first quest in the Farmstead).

Crimson Court (minor spoilers)

  • Heroes with the crimson curse are now labelled as "cursed" to match the visual effect on their portrait.
  • Improved how the mod reads the contagion level on buildings that have a hero in them afflicted with the Crimson Curse. This means there is a chance other characters assigned to that building will contract the disease.
  • After completing the first quest in the courtyard, the infestation level will be announced on the quest regions area, and visible increases to it will be spoken when you return to the Hamlet. This measures how likely you are to encounter bloodsuckers in regions other than the courtyard.
  • After the first quest in the courtyard, you'll be able to see how many invitations you have on that region and how many invitations a quest costs.

Butcher's Circus (in progress)

The butcher's circus is still unfinished. The banner designer, rankings board, and other things are untouched. Other things may still be missing or broken. I don't recommend it right now, so you enter at your own risk. That said, here's an update on where it stands:

  • You can invite and join matches with friends through the dueling grounds.
  • You can select a party lineup, view character sheets, and equip them with trinkets.
  • Press E to join matchmaking cue or ready up in a dueling grounds match.
  • You can complete matches and view rewards at the end.
  • You can view your current prestige and view future rewards in the prize box.

Blindest Dungeon v0.9.7

  • Turn indicators: You can now see how many turns everyone has remaining for the current round in combat, or if they have already acted.
  • You can now hold the arrow keys to quickly move through the interface.
  • You can now type or paste your game path into the installer
  • The launcher does a better job detecting your game path. It no longer defaults to the c drive when not in the same folder as the mod, which could cause it to crash if your game was uninstalled in a different place than normal and you added the launcher to the desktop.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the keyboard to freeze when a menu was opened over a dialog.
  • subtitles are now added to the same cue as floating combat text, so they shouldn't be completely lost during a battle.
  • Cleaned up a couple instances where buffs/debuffs could still announce generically instead of describing their effect.
