RiftLift 0.11.0
New look
RiftLift has a new logo and a redesigned app in Meta-style blue. The library is a two-column layout: the sidebar holds the logo, search, your installed and not-yet-installed games, and Settings/Account; each game page shows clean full-width key art with Launch, Files and More grouped together. Settings opens full-window with a link back to the library.
Windows support
RiftLift now runs natively on Windows. Download RiftLift-Setup-0.11.0-x64.exe, run it, and launch RiftLift from the Start menu. The installer is per-user: no administrator rights, Python, Git or separate runtime download needed. Re-run the installer to update; uninstall from Windows Installed apps (your games and settings are kept).
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say it "protected your PC". Choose More info → Run anyway.
- Sign in, download owned Rift games, and launch them through SteamVR or any OpenXR runtime. RiftLift picks the runtime automatically and never changes your system's OpenXR registration.
- Unity and Unreal games that use Meta's OVRPlugin (for example Epic Roller Coasters) now reach VR: RiftLift enables its OVRPlugin compatibility layer for the game process only, and points the game at SteamVR's OpenXR runtime when no other runtime is registered.
- Controllers: fixed a crash when Touch controllers are connected (Stormland corrupted SteamVR's client heap when event polling raced controller input updates), and serialized controller input across game threads.
- SteamVR shows each game's name and artwork instead of its executable name.
- The OpenXR path retries swapchains a runtime rejects (mipmapped, static, transfer-only, BGRA-only) instead of failing the session.
- Dark title bars; unsupported Windows actions are hidden rather than disabled.
Tested on Windows with SteamVR's null headset and simulated Touch controllers: Lone Echo, Vader Immortal: Episode I, Oculus First Contact, Stormland and Epic Roller Coasters render in stereo and detect the controllers. Physical headsets and full gameplay are not yet verified; see the compatibility wiki.
Known limitation: forcing the OpenXR path on SteamVR's own OpenXR runtime still fails for First Contact and Stormland; RiftLift uses SteamVR's OpenVR interface automatically, which works.
Linux
- The Oculus ABI bridges are shared with the Wine runtime, so Linux also gets the controller input/event-polling fixes and the OpenXR swapchain fallbacks.
- Sign-in keeps RiftLift's isolated browser profile between logins; Sign out and reset still clears it.
