v2.3.0 — dna, the repo-local agentic tool, and prompt logs in your commits
This release adds a place for deterministic logic that used to live in agent instructions: a repo-local .NET tool that directives and skills can call. The prompt log is its first tenant. Packages: Agentic.Check 2.3.0, InnoWvate.Agentic 2.3.0 (new) and InnoWvate.Dna 1.0.0 (new).

What's new
Optional dna shorthand. One global tool that runs dnx agentic.check and forwards everything else to the repo-local dotnet agentic. Nothing else is installed globally.
Repo-local dotnet agentic (InnoWvate.Agentic). Pinned once per repository in .config/dotnet-tools.json at the git root, installed by dna check when a selected directive needs it. Directives carry the -m 2.3 version they were written for, so instructions and tool stay in step.
Prompt logs in the commit itself. The Prompt Log directive now has agents wrap the log with dotnet agentic prompt-log wrap and include the block in the code commit's message, instead of a separate empty commit. dna prompt-log lists the logs in your history, filtered by date or count, and reads the old raw-text format too. dna prompt-log check validates a commit's block.
Codex rules for dotnet. For Codex targets, dna check offers a .codex/rules/dotnet-agentic-engineering.rules file so dotnet, dnx, dna and Uno's New-View.ps1 run outside the sandbox with network access, without an approval prompt.
Agents found by their folders. The default agent list is detected from CLIs on PATH and from each agent's documented folders, so desktop apps count too. The registry follows the agents gh skill supports.
A clearer selection prompt. The list opens on the selected rows, F2 shows all. A Filters block groups folder specialization, the view and the typed filter with aligned keys. Tab only touches rows already present above or below the folder and leaves your choices alone. Matches of the typed filter are highlighted, and Enter waits until the filter is cleared so you always confirm from the full selection.
Folder specialization, more explicit. Running dna check in a subfolder shows what is already present above or below in the status table and the heading, and --yes follows the same default as the interactive prompt, so a subfolder never gets a second copy of what the root already has.
Also
- Directive markers are shorter (
<!-- name:start -->); existing blocks migrate in place. - New
foundation-documentation-sourcesdirective: first-party documentation MCPs first. - ASP.NET detection covers test projects.
- Works without a GitHub login and stops cleanly when the anonymous quota is exhausted; an authenticated
ghis reused when present. - Help pages name the launcher you typed,
dna checkordnx agentic.check --.
Upgrading from 2.2
Run dnx agentic.check in each repository. The Prompt Log directive update is selected by default and brings the companion pin with it. The dna shortcut tool is also selected by default. Existing prompt-log commits stay valid and are listed by dna prompt-log; the git log --grep="^prompt-log:" commands from the old directive still match new entries. Agents pick up the updated instructions at their next session start.
Requirements
.NET 10 SDK and the GitHub CLI (gh). A GitHub login is optional.
