This release makes dna check better at showing what it is about to do and at letting you pick: preview any directive or skill before you take it, select or deselect by filter, and keep the companion tool in step with what is actually installed. Packages: Agentic.Check 2.4.0 and InnoWvate.Agentic 2.4.0; InnoWvate.Dna 1.0.0 is unchanged.

What's new

Preview before you install. In the action list, F3 opens the highlighted directive or skill in a scrollable preview: directives from the content that would be written, skills as gh skill preview renders them at the version an install would use. Esc returns to the list where you left it. Space and b page.

Select and deselect by filter. Type a filter, and ← and → act on the matching rows only; without a filter they still mean deselect all and select all, and the key help says which. Typing a filter switches to the all view, so every match is on screen with its real state and nothing disappears under the cursor while you work. The view stays on all after you clear the filter, until F2.

A built with: dna badge for your README. Whenever a check has something to apply and no README.md between the target folder and the git root links to this repository yet, the list offers a badge that does. It is selected like every other recommendation and can be deselected; a README that already links here is never touched.

Tool updates only when there is one. The companion and the dna shortcut are reported as up to date when nuget.org has nothing newer in their major, instead of being offered as an update on every run.

Skills that gh cannot update are re-installed. A skill installed by hand, or by an older tool, carries no GitHub metadata and is skipped by gh skill update. Such a skill is now offered as "re-install to enable updates", which writes the metadata, and the update summary counts what gh actually updated instead of what was planned.

The companion row follows your selection. Deselect the Prompt Log update and the InnoWvate.Agentic row shows the requirement of what is installed, not the one the update would bring; keeping the companion update then updates along the installed line instead of restoring.

Fewer wrong recommendations.

  • Inside a repository with a .gitignore, detection scans the files git lists, so ignored output folders never produce projects or gates.
  • cli-e2e-testing is offered for projects that actually interact with a terminal: a packaged dotnet tool, a command-line or terminal UI package, or console input. The stack table lists the projects that set it.
  • Project paths in the stack table are relative to the target folder, not to where the command was started.

Specialized subfolders stay lean. A dna check in a subfolder whose directives are all present above it no longer leaves an empty AGENTS.md behind, nor a CLAUDE.md that imports one.

Uno Platform.

  • The Uno directive registers the Uno Platform MCP servers at folder scope when they are missing, and the build directives take precedence over conflicting build-and-run steps in skills.
  • The uno-csharpmarkup2 skill is gated on C# Markup 2 projects.
  • The stable channel keeps the per-topic Uno Studio skills that the latest Studio release ships; the consolidated Studio hubs are available with --preview.

Prompt log. Blocks written by dotnet agentic prompt-log wrap now carry their format version in the start delimiter; older formats remain readable. The Prompt Log directive requires companion 2.4.

Upgrading from 2.3

Run dna check in each repository. The Prompt Log directive update is selected by default and brings the InnoWvate.Agentic 2.4.0 pin with it. Update the companion before reading new prompt logs: blocks written by 2.4.0 are reported as malformed by 2.3.0, while 2.4.0 reads every earlier format. An agent that still runs 2.3.0 with the updated directive is told to run dna check. Agents pick up the updated instructions at their next session start.

Requirements

.NET 10 SDK and the GitHub CLI (gh). A GitHub login is optional.
