PackingList Smart ‐ Privacy Policy

PackingList Smart (“the app”) is an offline travel packing checklist app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the app and how it is used.
- No account is required to use the app.
- Your trips, checklists, and preferences are stored locally on your device.
- We use EAS Insights (
expo-insights) to understand high-level usage/performance (currently focused on app cold starts).
The developer of PackingList Smart is responsible for the processing described in this policy.

The app stores your trips, generated packing lists, custom items, and settings locally so it works offline (including in airplane mode). This local data is used only to provide app features (create trips, generate lists, keep your preferences).
The app uses EAS Insights via the expo-insights library to provide usage and performance insights.
Expo’s documentation states that expo-insights currently sends client events only pertaining to cold starts, and may expand to additional events in the future.
Expo’s documentation also explains that if EAS Update is used, some high-level usage insights can be derived by aggregating client requests that check for updates.
Expo processes information according to its own privacy and data protection documentation, which apply to Expo services used by the app.

If you purchase Premium (lifetime), the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store.
The app supports “Restore Purchases” through Apple’s mechanisms so you can restore Premium on eligible devices.
Premium may include PDF export and sharing features (using the device share sheet).
When you export/share, the content you share is based on your own checklist and is shared only when you choose to do so.
If you contact support by email, the message content and email address are used only to respond and troubleshoot.
Information is used to:
- Provide core offline checklist functionality (create trips, generate and save lists).
- Understand app usage/performance at a high level using EAS Insights (
expo-insights) and improve the app. - Process and restore Premium purchases through Apple.
- Expo/EAS: analytics/insights processing as described in Expo’s documentation and privacy policy.
- Apple: purchases are handled by Apple via the App Store.
Other than the above, no data is sold to third parties.
- On-device data remains on your device until you delete it (for example by deleting trips or uninstalling the app).
- Expo/EAS retention is governed by Expo’s own policies and documentation.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and provide support.
Reasonable measures are used to protect the app and its data, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
The app is not intended for children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top indicates when it was last updated.
