Gemini CLI Korean Edition v1.0.0-ko 🇰🇷

🎯 Overview

This is the first official release of Gemini CLI Korean Edition - a community fork that resolves critical Korean (CJK) input issues on Windows systems.

✨ What's Fixed

🔧 Korean Input Issues (google-gemini#3143)

Problem:

  • Korean characters were being decomposed into individual jamo (자모) components
  • IME (Input Method Editor) composition was broken on Windows
  • Users couldn't type Korean text properly in the CLI

Solution:

  • Unified all input handling in KeypressContext
  • Disabled Ink's useInput for text entry to prevent conflicts
  • Integrated comprehensive input handling to properly support IME composition

🌏 Language Support

This fork specifically improves support for:

  • 🇰🇷 Korean (한국어): Full Hangul input with proper jamo composition
  • 🇯🇵 Japanese (日本語): Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji input
  • 🇨🇳 Chinese (中文): Simplified and Traditional Chinese input
