Highlights

  • Add isolated grok_search, grok_search_list, and grok_search_show tools for Grok-native X, Reddit, and public-web research outside the current repository.
  • Bundle a repository-free Grok search bridge adapted from MIT-licensed sudoHG/codex-grok-search.
  • Keep the existing managed Grok agent surface: readonly investigation, linked-worktree writing, and interactive Terminal handoff.

Upgrade

Start a new Codex task after upgrading so Skill/MCP tools reload.

Notes

  • Search mode pins grok-4.5 and only exposes x_search, web_search, and web_fetch.
  • Search runs use ~/.cache/grok-subagent/search-runs and temporary HOME isolation; they intentionally do not enter the current repository.
  • Local smoke on 2026-08-03 verified real x.com/status/... results via grok_search.
