Added
- Connect on a network that gives your device no IPv4 address. Four of the six exits now answer on
IPv6 as well, the app picks the address family your network can actually reach before it dials,
and it opens both of them in the firewall. A mobile network handing out IPv6 only used to leave
the app dialling an address it could never reach, with the kill switch holding your traffic. - Give the port forwarding command machine-readable output, so a script can drive a torrent
client such as qBittorrent without reading the text meant for a human.
warren port-forward get --jsonandwarren port-forward status --jsonprint one JSON object
per line, status --waitblocks until the public port is granted and reports the outcome
through its exit code, andstatus --watch --execruns a command of your choice every time the
granted public port changes. - Copy the granted public port from the port forwarding screen. A copy button sits next to each
open port and puts the port number alone on the clipboard, ready to paste into a torrent
client's incoming port field. - Tell you when a forwarded public port opens, moves or closes, with a system notification that
names the new port and opens the port forwarding screen. A renewal that keeps the same port
says nothing. The notification can be turned off from the port forwarding screen. - Publish the granted public ports to a file a script can watch, one port per line, written next
to the app settings asforwarded_port(~/.config/Warren VPN/on Linux,
~/Library/Application Support/Warren VPN/on macOS,%LOCALAPPDATA%\Warren VPN\on
Windows). The file empties while the tunnel is down, and is rewritten in place so a watcher
keeps following it. - Enter the forwarded public port into your torrent client, and keep it there. Pick qBittorrent,
Transmission or Deluge on the port forwarding screen, give it the address of its web interface
and its credentials, and the app writes the granted port into the client over that client's own
API, every time the exit moves the port. It also turns the client's own port randomisation and
UPnP off, which would otherwise take it straight back off the granted port. "Test connection"
reports what the client answered and "Apply now" writes the current port without waiting. The
password is kept in the operating system keychain, never in the settings file. - Link the port forwarding screen to the website guide explaining how to set up a torrent client
with a forwarded port.
Fixed
- Tell you why your traffic is blocked when your network cannot reach Warren at all. The app used
to wait silently for a network it could use, so a phone with working internet sat behind the kill
switch with nothing on screen explaining it. It now names the missing address family and says the
two ways out: disconnect, or move to another network. - Stop a connection attempt from stalling for twenty seconds on a network that lets the tunnel start
and then cuts it. The app asked the server for its address and waited for an answer that never
came, spending the whole attempt on that single wait, so it never reached the point where it
switches to TCP. It now gives up on a silent answer after six seconds, and sends the next attempt
over TCP on port 443 straight away. - Keep one more of the previous log files on Android. Reopening the app twice after a failed
connection used to erase the record a bug report is read for. - Stop the Android connect card from going back to green after the system took the VPN away. When
another app claimed the VPN slot while a connection was still being dialled, the tunnel was torn
down correctly but a status update already on its way put "Connected" back on the screen, over a
session that no longer existed. - Show the release notes of the installed version in the language the app runs in. The "What's new"
screen read a single file, written in English, so an app running in French or Romanian announced
its own changes in English. The notes offered along with an update were already translated.
