Privacy Policy for the WeakAuras Discord Thank You Bot

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the WeakAuras Discord Thank You Bot ("the Bot") processes information.

WeakAuras is an open source project. The Bot exists solely to collect the names of community members who wish to be acknowledged in project releases.

Information We Collect

The Bot collects only the following information:

The Discord display name (or other visible name) of users who react to the first message in the #thank-you Discord channel. If a user sends the Bot a direct message, the content of that message. This message is used as the name or text that will be displayed instead of the user's Discord name in future acknowledgements.

The Bot does not collect any other personal information.

How We Collect Information

Information is collected only when:

You react to the designated message in the #thank-you channel. You send a direct message to the Bot. Purpose of Processing

The collected information is used exclusively to generate the "Thank You" section included in WeakAuras project releases, acknowledging supporters of the project.

The information is not used for analytics, profiling, advertising, or any other purpose.

Legal Basis

By reacting to the designated message in the #thank-you channel, you consent to the collection and use of your name for the purpose described in this Privacy Policy.

If you choose to send the Bot a direct message to replace your displayed name, you consent to the use of that message in place of your Discord name.

Public Disclosure

The names or replacement text collected by the Bot are included in WeakAuras project releases.

As project releases are publicly available, this information becomes public.

Your Choices

You may withdraw your consent at any time by removing your reaction from the designated message.

Once your reaction has been removed, your name or replacement text will not be included in future project releases.

If you leave the WeakAuras Discord server, you will be treated as though you removed your reaction, and your information will no longer be included in future releases.

Please note that releases already published cannot be modified retroactively.

Cookies and Tracking

The Bot does not use cookies, tracking technologies, analytics, or similar technologies.

Information Sharing

The Bot does not share collected information with third parties.

The only disclosure of collected information is its inclusion in publicly available WeakAuras project releases as described above.

Data Retention

The Bot retains collected information only for as long as necessary to determine who should be acknowledged in upcoming project releases.

If you remove your reaction or leave the Discord server, your information will no longer be used for future releases.

Previously published releases will continue to contain acknowledgements that were included at the time of publication.

Children's Privacy

The Bot is not directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will become effective when the updated policy is published.
