Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 2.0.0
Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 2.0.0
The plugin is split in two. This one keeps the layout (the Archived Articles template and sources for the YOOtheme Pro builder). The archive automation is now the separate plugin Auto Archive, which also works without YOOtheme. Update from System > Update > Extensions.
If you never switched the automation on: just update, nothing changes.
If the automation is on: the update to 2.0.0 is refused with a clear message and nothing is changed, until Auto Archive 1.0.0 is installed, enabled and switched on. Install Auto Archive first (release autoarchive-1.0.0 in this repository): it imports your settings (category and options) and switches the old automation off so the two never run together; then update this plugin. The 301 redirects stored by 1.x stay in System > Redirects and are managed by Auto Archive.
Changed
- Removed from this plugin: the automation, its options, messages and log.
- The old automation files are removed on update; the options screen says where the automation went.
- Unchanged: the template type, the Archive dynamic sources, the filter form, assignment fields and the compatibility with Essentials for YOOtheme Pro and 4SEO.
Checked: update 1.2.1 to 2.0.0 on Joomla 6.2.0 and 5.4.10 with the automation off, with it on and Auto Archive installed first, and with it on and Auto Archive missing (update refused, nothing changed); also with YOOtheme Pro 5.0.51, Essentials for YOOtheme Pro 3.0.15 and 4SEO 7.2.0 active. JED Checker master and develop: no errors, no warnings, one notice about the <licence> element.

Auto Archive 1.0.1
Description and guides: why it exists. No change in behaviour.
- The description shown in System > Extensions (English and Italian) now says what the plugin is for: archived articles in a category of their own, archiving moves, moving archives, 301 redirect when the address changes.
- The user guides (USAGE, USO) and the README explain why the archive lives in a category and not only in the Archived state, and that Archive Layouts for YOOtheme alone is enough to design an archive page, even two distinct archives filtered by category.
Update from System > Update > Extensions, or install plg_system_autoarchive-1.0.1.zip with System > Install > Extensions > Upload Package File.
Auto Archive 1.0.0
Auto Archive 1.0.0
Keeps the archived articles of a Joomla site in one category, with or without YOOtheme.
- Archive an article (list, toolbar, edit form or API) and it is moved to the archive category you choose.
- Save a published article into that category, or move it there with Batch, and it is archived through the Joomla article model (Smart Search, cache, versions and action logs stay in sync).
- Optional 301 redirect from the old address when the category is part of the article URL.
- Force archived is off by default. Off by default as a whole; permission-aware (Edit State, and Create in the archive category by default); never acts for guests or the command line; log in
administrator/logs/plg_system_autoarchive.php. - English and Italian.
It is the automation of Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 1.2.1, now a separate plugin with the same behaviour. Coming from Archive Layouts 1.x: installing Auto Archive imports the automation settings and switches the old automation off. Archive Layouts 2.0.0 refuses to update while the automation is on and Auto Archive is not installed, enabled and switched on.
Requirements: Joomla 5 or 6, PHP 8.1+. Install: System > Install > Extensions > Upload Package File with plg_system_autoarchive-1.0.0.zip; updates arrive from the WebG update server.
Checked on Joomla 6.2.0 and 5.4.10: archive, move by API, Batch, force archived on and off, redirects (including a manual redirect left untouched and a redirect from 1.2.x taken over), install with and without Archive Layouts, with and without YOOtheme Pro, and with Essentials for YOOtheme Pro 3.0.15 and 4SEO 7.2.0 active. JED Checker master and develop: no errors, no warnings, one notice about the <licence> element.

Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 1.2.1
Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 1.2.1
Maintenance release after the review of 1.2.0. Update from System > Update > Extensions.
Changed
- Redirects: an existing redirect for the same old address that the plugin did not create
(made by hand or by another extension) is never changed. The plugin only updates or
unpublishes its own redirects, recognised by the note "Archive Layouts for YOOtheme:". - The warning about the core System - Redirect plugin being off also appears when only
Archive articles moved into the category is on. - The plugin log is rotated above 1 MB (the previous file is kept as
plg_system_yooarchive.1.php).
Good to know
- Redirects are written by the plugin, so the user needs no permission on the Redirects
component; they are written only for moves allowed by the automation rules (Edit State on
the article, and Create in the archive category when that option is on). - With article URLs that contain the id (
/<id>-alias) the old address stays live after the
move, so no redirect is used. - After uninstall the redirects stored by the plugin stay in System > Redirects (note starting
with "Archive Layouts for YOOtheme:") and the log stays inadministrator/logs/.
Checked: update 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 through the update server on Joomla 6.2.0 and 5.4.10 (with
YOOtheme Pro 5.0.51, Essentials for YOOtheme Pro 3.0.15 and 4SEO 7.2.0 active); a manual redirect
for the same old address stays untouched. JED Checker master and develop: no errors, no
warnings, one notice about the <licence> element (required by rule PH3 of develop, not known
to the manifest validation).

Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 1.1.0
Archive Layouts for YOOtheme 1.1.0

system plugin by WebG that lets you design the Joomla Archived Articles page with the
YOOtheme Pro builder.

category, configurable), checked-out articles skipped, never for guests or CLI. - English and Italian. Survives YOOtheme updates.
