DSPi Console v1.1.5
DSPi Console v1.1.5
Everything from the v1.1.5 beta series, plus the changes since beta6. If you have been running the betas, skip to Since v1.1.5-beta6 at the end.
Filters & DSP
- Crossover tab - dedicated per-output crossover filters: Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth, and Bessel families, orders 1-8, low and high pass
- Linkwitz Transform - a filter type on output channels that replaces a sealed-box driver's (f0, Q0) rolloff with a target (fp, Qp) alignment, with the implied DC boost shown so you can match a preamp cut. Edits are staged behind Apply / Revert
- First-order filter types - 1st-order all-pass, low shelf, and high shelf, plus 6 dB/oct High Cut and Low Cut. Both cuts now group their 6 dB/oct and 12 dB/oct variants under one menu entry
- Volume Leveller overhaul - redesigned with a live gain-transfer curve and per-channel detector / apply masks for full multichannel control
- Multichannel Loudness Compensation - apply loudness compensation to any selected set of output channels
- Multichannel Crossfeed - crossfeed is now assignable per output pair
- Band gain carries three decimals end to end, and Q exports at the precision the app holds
Tools
- Stereo Upmixer - derives Centre, Ls and Rs from a stereo source, with selectable centre and surround modes, decorrelation, surround delay / filtering, and a presence control. RP2350 only
- Psychoacoustic Bass - missing-fundamental bass extension, assignable per output channel, with cutoff, harmonics, drive, character and original-level controls
- Test tone generator - built-in sine, noise, and sweep tones with per-channel routing
Inputs & Outputs
- 8-channel USB input - full 7.1 surround input on RP2350, with a unified channel model where inputs are first-class EQ + metering channels. The sidebar and matrix mixer adapt to the active input count
- Multichannel I2S input - 2 / 4 / 6 / 8-channel I2S input (up to four stereo RX pairs), each with its own configurable serial-data pin
- I2S slave mode - run the DSPi as an I2S clock slave, with the external master driving BCK / LRCLK and the sample rate auto-detected, plus lock status and clock diagnostics
- Configurable I2S clock pins - unified or separate master / slave BCK + LRCLK pin pairs
- ADAT output - stream all 8 main output channels as a single ADAT optical lightpipe signal. RP2350 only
- ADAT input - use an 8-channel ADAT lightpipe as the input source, with its own RX pin, clock mode and lock status. RP2350 only
- Four switchable S/PDIF inputs - up to four S/PDIF input instances with independent, hot-swappable RX pins and per-input enable
- Hardware configuration persistence - choose whether your input and output wiring is stored on the device independently or saved with each preset
- Active input channel count is read from macOS CoreAudio, so it stays correct to your selected format even with no audio playing
Control Surfaces
- Wire your own physical buttons, switches, potentiometers, rotary encoders, and LEDs and bind them to firmware parameters
- IR remote control - learn and bind up to 16 infrared remote buttons, with a guided learn flow and per-command naming
- Loudness reference SPL and intensity are now bindable
- Edits use the same Apply / Save / Revert bar as the rest of Settings, with binding menus grouped into per-family submenus
- External control interfaces - drive the DSPi from an external microcontroller over UART or I2C
Files & Presets
- Save and restore a whole device configuration to a file - a complete snapshot of the device, portable between machines
- Filter import / export overhaul - exported files carry every active input channel, the per-input preamp and the crossover bank, and every filter type survives a round trip intact (Q on cuts and shelves, notch, all-pass, Linkwitz Transform and per-band bypass were previously lost). Imports honour a REW or AutoEQ preamp line and report anything they could not apply
Interface
- Copy and paste channels from the keyboard - Cmd+C and Cmd+V copy the selected channel's filter bank onto another channel. Copying an output also carries its crossover bank, gain, delay and mute, and pasting onto a stereo input mirrors to its partner when Link L/R is on
- Link any adjacent pair of input channels, not just 1/2
- Graph curve toggles moved into the sidebar channel pills
- Settings reorganized into unified Inputs / Outputs pages, and the Settings window is resizable
- Value fields now require Cmd to change by scrolling, so a stray scroll cannot alter a setting
- Sidebar polish: brighter channel pills, one definition per channel color, dynamic spacing that follows the active input count
Reliability
- Multi-device correctness - commands, monitors and staged setting drafts are bound to the device they were started on, so switching or hot-plugging a DSPi mid-operation can no longer land a change on the wrong unit
- Sturdier USB connection: the connect path retries instead of giving up after a single failure
- Warnings before changing an external mute setting during playback, and before running ADAT output from a free-running clock
- Fixes: output route preview, and a 60 ms scene rebuild stall
Since v1.1.5-beta6
- Save and restore a whole device configuration to a file - a complete snapshot of the device, portable between machines
- A fourth S/PDIF input, following the firmware up from three
- Sixteen IR remote commands per receiver, up from eight
- Loudness reference SPL and intensity are now bindable from Control Surfaces
- First-order (6 dB/oct) High Cut and Low Cut filter types, with both cuts now grouping their 6 dB/oct and 12 dB/oct variants under a single menu entry
- Linkwitz Transform edits are staged behind Apply and Revert, and a band's values are sanitized when it changes to or from an LT so a leftover gain cannot land as a target frequency
- Band gain carries three decimals end to end, and Q exports at the precision the app holds
- Link any adjacent pair of input channels, not just 1/2, and the joint page closes from either linked row
- Graph curve toggles moved into the sidebar channel pills, which are brighter and now drawn from one definition per channel color. The dashboard keeps its pills when you leave a channel page
- Value fields require Cmd to change by scrolling, so a stray scroll cannot alter a setting
Universal build (Apple Silicon + Intel). Ad-hoc signed: on first launch, right-click the app and choose Open.
