- Dialogs: Enter triggers the main button (Done, OK, Create, Apply, Save…), also while a field is focused. In the “Unsaved changes” dialog S saves, N doesn't save, C cancels.
Fixed
- Theme “Follow system” showed the light theme while the system was dark (and the standard widgets were dark), which made e.g. checkbox labels invisible.

- Collapsible panels: Tools, tool options, Colors, Layers and History fold to their header with the chevron (or a click on the title). The state is remembered.
- Windows installer (
…-setup.exe): Start menu entry, optional desktop shortcut, “Open with” for images,.oraassociation, clean uninstall. Installs per user without admin rights, or for all users. The portable.zipis still there. - apt repository for Debian and Ubuntu at
https://neobrush.wbg.gg/apt, so Neobrush updates withapt upgrade(see the README).
Fixed
- Large interface sizes and small windows: the side panels scroll instead of pushing History and the status bar off screen, the toolbar sections step aside when they don't fit, and the chord popup uses fewer columns when narrow.
- Wrapped hint texts in the tool options no longer spill out of their card.

- Settings (gear button, Ctrl+, or V S): language, theme and accent color.
- 15 languages: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Українська, Русский, Latina, toki pona, 中文, 日本語, 한국어, עברית and العربية. The system language is picked on first start. Bundled Noto-based fonts cover Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew and Arabic, so they work in the web version too. The layout is not mirrored for right-to-left languages yet.
- Accent colors: violet, blue, teal, orange, rose, and a Halloween theme (always dark, pumpkin orange on purple-black).
- The bundled Inter font now includes Cyrillic and Greek, for the UI and the Text tool.
- Interface size: scale the whole UI from 75% to 200% on top of the system scale.
- Arrowheads for the Line / Curve tool: at the end, the start or both ends.
- Settings option to stop recommending donations; it hides the status bar link and the Help menu entry.

- Line styles (solid, dashed, dotted) are icon buttons now, so they fit in every language. Text in segmented switches is shortened with “…” instead of overflowing.
- The settings button sits at the far right of the toolbar.

- Toolbar sections: File, Edit, View, Image, Layers, Adjustments, Effects and Tools, each with its most used commands as labelled icon buttons and a ⋯ popup with the rest. On narrow windows the less important buttons hide.
- Command palette button with a spinning gradient ring on hover, right after the toolbar icons.
- Tool options moved into the left sidebar below a six-column tool grid, so the canvas gets more height.
- Help: link to the source code on GitHub. A small link in the status bar to donate to Voices of Children.

- The main menu is hidden by default. Tap Alt to show it (like most desktop apps); it hides again after you pick something. View › Menu Bar keeps it visible. On macOS it stays in the system menu bar.
- The toolbar no longer shows the “Neobrush” wordmark.

- Command palette. Tap Space (or click the search bar) and type: fuzzy search over every command, tool, layer, open document and recent file, with matches highlighted and recently used commands ranked first. Every row shows its shortcut. Quick commands understand free text:

- Clone Stamp moved to C. G cycles Gradient and Paint Bucket. F starts effect chords.
- Holding Space still pans; a short tap opens the palette.
Faster
Measured on an 8K image:
- Zoomed-out rendering 4× faster (mipmaps); moving the mouse no longer re-renders the canvas
- Rectangle selection drag: 17 ms → ~0 per update; ellipse 34 → 8 ms
- Undo/redo 7× faster (only changed tiles are recomposited)
- Paint bucket and magic wand 60× faster
- Effect previews only compute the visible area; gradients and moving pixels render the visible area while dragging
- The web version is built with full optimization and WebAssembly SIMD

- Keyboard shortcuts work again right after closing a dialog or the palette.

Fixed
- Menu shortcuts (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V…) no longer change the image while you type in a text field.
- Menu actions are ignored while a dialog is open, so e.g. Ctrl+Z can't undo behind an open Curves dialog.
- The History panel now scrolls to keep the current step visible.
- Sliders (e.g. layer opacity) now follow external changes after being dragged, so they no longer show stale values when you switch layers.
- The hex color field selects its contents when clicked, so you can type a new color straight away.
