Why this PR exists
PR #231 was merged after PR #228 had already landed on
main, and #231 targeted the former #228 branch (reliability-regression-performance-gate) rather thanmain. Its release-prep changes therefore never reached the default branch.This PR reapplies exactly that already-reviewed six-file release/documentation delta directly on current
