Updating an Existing Panel

Use the Manager's selected-device workflow to update a working panel without treating it as a new device.

Update from the Manager

1. Connect the Manager to Home Assistant.
2. Open Devices and select the panel.
3. Confirm the node name, IP, connection security, climate sources, rotation, brightness, and OLED Care settings.
4. Choose Update selected panel.
5. Review the generated configuration and target address.
6. Start the OTA update and keep the panel powered until it reconnects.

The Manager downloads an exact official GitHub firmware commit and verifies it before building. It preserves the device and entity identity, climate sources, display settings, API encryption or legacy plaintext mode, Wi-Fi configuration, and OTA mode.

Change sensor sources

Temperature and humidity dropdowns include compatible Home Assistant entities and still allow a custom entity ID. Source changes require the same reviewed OTA workflow because ESPHome compiles these references into the device configuration.

Update indicators

The OLED blinking dot means at least one update is available. The bottom tray identifies:

• PANEL FW UPDATE for HA Proxy Panel firmware
• ESPHOME UPDATE for the Home Assistant ESPHome update entity
• 2 FW UPDATES when both are available

The text enters only from the bottom and remains below the separator. Use Test Firmware Notification to preview it.
