v1.7.2
Fixed
- Authored line breaks inside a caption are kept. The BBC writes a caption's
line breaks as
between styled spans, and those breaks carry meaning
(a speaker change, a dialogue split). The converter dropped them and joined
the rows into one long line, leaving the player to wrap wherever it liked.
Each
is now an SRT line break, so the caption reads as authored.
Adjacent spans with no break between them stay on one line with the
spacing exactly as authored. On the same Waterloo Road episode used for
1.7.1, multi-line cues went from 25 to 404 with no change to any cue's
timing or wording. Follow-up to #53. - Escaped angle brackets in dialogue (< and >, used for sound effect
captions such as "< SNORING") can no longer be mistaken for markup and
stripped, because tags are now removed before entities are decoded.
Upgrade: pull ghcr.io/will-luck/iplayer-arr:1.7.2 (or :latest). No config
changes. Already-downloaded .srt files are not rewritten.
