SE10K-RWB48BFN4 detects meter but all live meter registers return 0x8000 / Unknown

Describe the bug

Hi,

first of all, thank you for maintaining this excellent integration.

I have a SolarEdge installation that behaves strangely and I believe it may be related to newer RWB firmware.

Environment

• Home Assistant 2026.7.3
• SolarEdge Modbus Multi 3.3.0
• Inverter:
  SE10K-RWB48BFN4
  Firmware: 0004.0025.0011
• Meter:
  MTR-240-3PC1-D-A-MW
  Firmware: 1.0.90
• Battery:
  SolarEdge Home Battery 48V (4 modules)

Configuration

• Modbus TCP enabled
• Port 1502
• Inverter Device ID = 1
• Meter Device ID = 2
• RS485-1 configured as Modbus (Multi Device)
• Meter configured as Export+Import
• Inverter configured as SolarEdge Leader
• Meter status in SetApp = OK

The integration correctly detects:

• Inverter
• Meter
• Battery

The battery works correctly.
The inverter works correctly.

Only the meter does not provide live values.

Symptoms

Every live meter entity is either

• Unknown

or

• Unavailable

Examples:

• AC Current
• AC Voltage
• AC Frequency
• AC Power
• AC Imported Energy
• AC Exported Energy

The diagnostic file shows that almost every meter register returns:

0x8000

instead of actual values.

The energy registers return 0.

Interestingly, the SolarEdge SetApp shows the meter working correctly and displays live power (for example 223 W) and reports:

Meter Status: OK

Therefore the meter itself appears to work correctly.

Battery values are also read correctly through Modbus.

I have already verified:

• correct Modbus TCP port
• correct inverter ID
• correct meter ID
• inverter configured as Leader
• inverter reboot
• Home Assistant reboot
• integration removed and added again

Is this a known limitation or compatibility issue with firmware 0004.0025.0011 or with the SE10K-RWB48BFN4 platform?

Expected behavior

I think it is a bug so maybe a bug fix

This is not a bug. Values of 0x0 and -0x8000 are real data returned by the modbus query by the inverter, which means internally the inverter isn't providing data for the meter over modbus. It's not useful data but it is working data. HA will display these values as "unavailable" state.

You can try power cycling your inverter: set switch to 0, wait for shutdown, disconnect DC, disconnect AC.
