5tratumOS 0.8.7 — first-boot download recovery
Fixes a startup issue found while testing the 0.8.6 installation media: the network could become ready after 5tratMux first tried to fetch its signed release, leaving the installation waiting without retrying.
The OS now retries that specific temporary channel reachability failure up to six times, with increasing delays. Every attempt uses the normal signed updater. Signature, version, installation and health failures remain visible and stop the process.
This cumulative release includes the UEFI and legacy BIOS ISOs, Raspberry Pi OS Lite ARM64 image, and complete installation/update bundle. MAIN is 0.8.7 and DEV is 0.8.7-dev. Published 0.8.6 and earlier files remain unchanged.

Matching SHA-256 files accompany every download. An Internet connection is required for operating-system packages and downloaded components. The OS archives are unsigned and checksum-verified; the native 5tratMux and optional Local AI catalogues retain their own signature checks.
Native 5tratMux stays at 0.9.49, optional Local AI at 0.1.2 and optional MUXFLIGHT at 0.1.1. Optional runtime images, applications and model weights remain on demand. The current optional Local AI runtime supports AMD64 only.
Validation: the correction passed 8 focused recovery tests and 74 existing integration tests. All final media passed independent content and filesystem checks. The affected UEFI test VM recovered with the exact 0.8.7 bundle and passed all 10 package-install checks and all 10 checks again after a real reboot. The 0.8.6 BIOS media passed clean installation and reboot. The 0.8.7 media reuse those installer builders with the corrected payload; a fresh end-to-end 0.8.7 ISO installation has not been repeated. Physical Raspberry Pi firmware/kernel boot, peripherals and reboot remain untested.
