@WinchellWang WinchellWang released this 25 Sep 20:04

Welcome to the initial open-source release of Expense — a lightweight, privacy-focused, and beautifully simple expense tracker designed for iOS.

What's New in v1.2 💳

  • Fixed the iCloud backup bug. You can now restore data on any Apple device.
  • Fixed the decimal-related bug.
  • Added an option to disable decimals, providing a better experience for currencies that don’t use decimal places.
  • Other small improvements.

✨ Key Features

  • ⚡ Lightning-Fast Entry: Minimalist number pad with custom tactile feedback, optional fixed 2-decimal mode, and smart category sorting based on frequency.
  • 🍏 Zero-Touch Apple Pay Automation: Powered by native iOS App Intents. Seamlessly log transactions in the background when paying with Apple Pay via Siri Shortcuts.
  • 🎨 Custom Categories & Apple Emojis: Curated native emoji catalog. Create, rename, and reorder categories freely with full data cascade.
  • 🔒 Privacy-First Architecture: 100% offline. Zero third-party SDKs, zero telemetry, and no account required. All data resides in your device's sandbox.
  • ☁️ Data Sovereignty: Export to standard CSV or JSON anytime. Supports iCloud document backup and lossless JSON restore.
  • 🪶 Ultra-Lightweight: Built purely with SwiftUI (< 5 MB binary size).
  • 🌐 Multilingual Support: English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, Français, and Español.

📦 Installation & Sideloading (Unsigned IPA)

The attached Expense_V1.1.ipa is an unsigned binary intended for sideloading:

  • Requirements: iPhone running iOS 18.0 or later.
  • Installation Methods:
    • TrollStore (if supported on your device/iOS version): Install directly without revokes.
    • AltStore / SideStore / Sideloadly: Sign using your free or paid Apple ID.
  • Note for Free Apple IDs: Sideloading with a free personal Apple ID may have limitations on certain iCloud entitlements. Manual JSON / CSV backup is fully functional locally.
