Download
Not sure which build you need? Use the x64 downloads below-they work on the vast majority of PCs (including many ARM64 devices via emulation). Choose ARM64 only if you run native ARM64 Windows and want the native build.

Major Feature Updates (5.32)
Glass Mode: new DirectX rendering engine (replaces CUDA)
Glass mode (Smart Transparency) has been rebuilt from the ground up. The effect no longer depends on NVIDIA CUDA and now uses DirectX 11 on your graphics card-the same modern path used for capture and display.
Before (5.31 and earlier): Glass worked best only with an NVIDIA GPU, and you had to turn on “Use GPU acceleration (NVIDIA GPU only)” in Settings. On ARM64 PCs, glass could not use the GPU at all. Text and UI edges were not always detected correctly, which could make some windows look wrong or glitchy.
After (5.32): Glass uses a four-pass DirectX compute pipeline with substantial quality and performance work: GPU-side noise reduction, improved shape vs background separation, and more accurate text detection with fewer artifacts. Any DirectX 11–capable GPU can accelerate glass-including AMD, Intel, and integrated graphics-and ARM64 builds use the same path as x64.
What changed for you:
- Hardware acceleration on (almost) any GPU - No NVIDIA-only requirement; no separate “GPU acceleration” toggle. If your system can run DirectX 11, glass can use the GPU.
- ARM64 - Full glass support on ARM64 Windows with the same DirectX pipeline as x64.
- Glass is a first-class feature again - Removed “unstable” labels from Settings and the toolbar; Glass is included in the default toolbar buttons for new installs. Default glass background level is 0.75 (was 0.6).
- Simpler Settings - Removed the obsolete “Use GPU acceleration (NVIDIA GPU only)” option; Filter images remains under Glass Mode in Features.
Vietnamese language (5.32.6)
WindowTop is now available in Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt).
If Windows is set to Vietnamese, WindowTop uses it automatically on first run. You can also switch anytime from Settings → Language or the tray icon Settings → Language menu.
Thanks a lot to Vu Anh Vu for his great contribution!
What's Next?
See the roadmap #389 thread :)
Minor Changes (5.32.X)
5.32.6
- Added Vietnamese language (Tiếng Việt). Auto-selected when Windows is Vietnamese; also available from Settings and the tray language menu. Vu Anh Vu for his great contribution!
5.32.5
- Added Vietnamese language (Tiếng Việt). Auto-selected when Windows is Vietnamese; also available from Settings and the tray language menu.
- Microsoft Store: purchases (including full-app buys) are detected again after Microsoft’s purchase-data format change, and Purchase / Login now re-checks ownership (with a short loading animation) before showing the purchase screen (#495)
- Microsoft Store (UWP): Capture-based Anchors / PiP auto-move now requests Windows Graphics capture without border permission first (instead of an unexplained yellow border); if denied, it falls back to UIAutomation-based detection and Settings show a notice with a link to Privacy Settings so Capture-based can resume after you allow it (#496)
5.32.5 (Microsoft Store updates only)
None of 5.32.5 fixes are relevant to non-MS Store version so there is no plan to make non-MS store release for this version
Release notes (from #495 and #496):
- Fixed Microsoft Store licensing so purchases (including full-app buys) are detected again after Microsoft’s purchase-data format change, and Purchase / Login now re-checks ownership (with a short loading animation) before showing the purchase screen (#495)
- On the Microsoft Store (UWP) build, Capture-based Anchors / PiP auto-move now requests Windows Graphics capture without border permission first (instead of an unexplained yellow border); if denied, it falls back to UIAutomation-based detection and Settings show a notice with a link to Privacy Settings so Capture-based can resume after you allow it (#496)
5.32.4
- Fixed an intermittent bug where an Anchor icon could remain on screen after its window was closed (for example with multiple Excel workbook windows), and clicking it did nothing until WindowTop was restarted. This issue reported on https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowTop/comments/1verzqu/excel_anchor_sometimes_stays_stuck_after_all/
5.32.3
- Fixed several critical bugs (regressions) that were identified in the previous beta version (5.32.2).
5.32.2 (Beta until proven table, desktop version only)
- Daily Pro Trial (#158): Free users can now access Pro features for a limited time each day after their initial trial expires. During the initial 30-day trial, all paid features remain completely unlocked. Afterward, attempting to use any Pro feature automatically starts a daily trial timer (typically 15-45 minutes, though duration is not guaranteed), allowing you to continue testing Pro capabilities for a short period every day.
- PiP is now Pro - Picture-in-Picture requires Pro or an active trial.
These changes apply to the desktop download only. The Microsoft Store version requires purchase before installation and does not include the daily Pro trial.
5.32.1
- Revert showing the Glass button by default on the toolbar (revert from 5.32.0)
5.32.0
- Glass: Migrated glass processing from CUDA to DirectX 11; removed the old NVIDIA-only GPU path.
- Glass / UI: Glass toolbar button enabled by default; default glass background level set to 0.75; removed unstable-feature labels for Glass.
- Glass / UI: Removed “Use GPU acceleration (NVIDIA GPU only)” setting and related translations.
- Updates: Fixed ARM64 detection when the app updates itself-auto-update now consistently selects the ARM64 installer on ARM64 Windows.
- Glass: Changing glass-related settings applies immediately without waiting for the next frame refresh.
