Installed Version

Windows_Craft76 edited this page Sep 5, 2026 · 4 revisions

On this page, you will find instructions on how to add custom Minecraft versions (such as Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, etc.) to the application.

Warning

Only Forge, Fabric, NeoForge, and Quilt have been tested and are officially supported by our application. Installing any other loader/custom version is not recommended. If you wish to try other loaders, you do so at your own risk.
This feature remains fairly experimental, some older loader versions do not work, so I advise you to use the most recent loader versions.

Download the Installer

Here are the links to the official websites to download the installers for the supported loaders:

Note

The example below uses Fabric, but the procedure is almost identical for all other loaders.

Install the Version

Once the installer is downloaded, launch it and follow these steps:

1. Getting Started

  • In blue: the Minecraft version and the loader version (which you can change according to your needs).
  • In red: the Create profile option, which must remain checked.

2. Find the Directory Path

Note

You can skip directly to the next step if you kept MiniCube's default directory during installation. If you are not sure, follow this step.

To install the version in the right place, you need to know the exact location of the Meta folder:

1. Open MiniCube, click on Menu then on Open folder (as shown in the image below). This will open File Explorer.

2. Double-click on the address bar (next to the text, not directly on it):

3. Replace GameFile with Meta. You should get a path similar to: C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\.MiniCube\Meta

4. Copy this path and keep it for the next step.

3. Select the Directory in the Installer

Note

If you skipped the previous step:
Simply replace .minecraft at the end of the path (red frame) with .MiniCube\Meta, then skip directly to sub-step 2.

1. In the section framed in red on the installer, replace the existing path with the path you copied in the previous step.

2. Next, click on the Install button. Once the popup appears confirming that the installation is complete (as shown below), you can close the installer and restart MiniCube.

Once these steps are completed, the version you just installed should appear under the Installed profile.

Warning

Once a version is installed, it is recommended to launch that version at least once before installing new ones.
