Overview

Wizard v1.0.12 is a patch release focused on reliable prerequisite installation, Windows compatibility, and correct reuse of existing Python environments.

Fixed

  • Reused any usable Python 3.12 or newer interpreter, including Python 3.13 and 3.14, instead of installing a duplicate Python 3.12 runtime.
  • Detected versioned interpreters such as python3.14 when a system does not provide a generic python3 command.
  • Added Windows Python Launcher support through py -3 and passed the resolved concrete interpreter path to uv.
  • Refreshed Windows user and system PATH values after Winget installs so newly installed tools can be used without manually editing PATH.
  • Added discovery for common per-user and machine-wide Python, uv, pnpm, Node.js, and Winget locations.
  • Added a clear new-PowerShell instruction when Windows still cannot expose a newly installed prerequisite to the running process.

Compatibility

Wizard accepts Python 3.12 and every newer Python version that can install and run the project dependencies. A compatible existing interpreter is reused; Wizard does not downgrade or replace it.
