Why is it necessary to pass the className parameter to the Edit function?

I'm looking into the SearchEdit component, and it's not entirely obvious why is it necessary to pass the className parameter to the Edit function? Sorry if the material is disclosed in the documentation, site search leaves much to be desired.

classNames are used once in classname() function, but for my look className is just undefined. Who init className value?

In React components, the className parameter is commonly used to pass classes for styling elements. However, if SearchEdit is not a component and doesn't support the syntax, then passing className to the SearchEdit function doesn't make sense.
