Two APKs, one per head-unit family
Pick the one that matches your car's CPU. There is no universal package: a head unit cannot install an APK whose ABI does not match its own.
| File | Architectures | Head units |
|---|---|---|
DiPlay-x86_64-standalone.apk |
x86_64 |
GWM Lemon seats (Harman / iFlytek HiLife) on Intel, e.g. Haval Red Rabbit top trim |
DiPlay-arm64-armeabi-standalone.apk |
arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a |
BYD DiLink and other ARM seats |
Check what your head unit reports:
adb shell getprop ro.product.cpu.abix86_64 uses the first file. arm64-v8a or armeabi-v7a uses the second. Both require Android 8.0 (API 26) or newer.
Pairing needs the identity, and these have it
These are the only packages on this page, and both carry the accessory identity an iPhone checks before it will talk to a receiver. There is no source-only variant here on purpose: a package without the identity installs and runs, then never pairs, with no error shown anywhere.
Platform support
| Platform | Navigation output | Vehicle data |
|---|---|---|
| BYD DiLink | HUD, instrument cluster, DiLink 5 receiver | Speed, gear, battery, range |
| GWM Lemon (Harman / iFlytek HiLife) | None — navigation stays in the projected window | Not read |
| Unrecognised head unit | None | Not read |
An unrecognised head unit is a normal outcome, not an error: CarPlay over USB still works and the vendor settings stay hidden rather than appearing and doing nothing. The detected platform id, firmware and ABI list are logged once per CarPlay session.
Wireless on older firmware
Wi-Fi Direct needs Android 10+. On Android 8 and 9 only the built-in car hotspot is offered. Wired USB CarPlay works on every supported version and is the recommended path on older units.
Known compatibility
Confirmed working: iPhone XS on iOS 18.7.10, wired and wireless, picture, touch and audio.
Reported as problematic: iOS 15.x, where pairing and Bluetooth succeed but the CarPlay session never starts and the phone stays on "Preparing". iPhone 7 cannot go past iOS 15, so it is not expected to work.
About the identity in these builds
These packages carry an accessory identity published by the upstream project, not one issued to this build. That is acceptable for a personal head unit and is how the community shares one credential. It is not a licence to redistribute: do not publish builds made from it.
Package size
These builds are smaller than an upstream release APK. That is dex compression only — assembleDebug compresses the dex files where a release build leaves them uncompressed. It has no bearing on behaviour or on pairing.
