Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 recompilation using PSXRecomp. Menus and the first level, XLAX, work in testing; later levels have not been checked.
Tested only on Linux: Garuda Linux, x86_64. This AppImage requires glibc 2.43+, GCC 16 runtime libraries, system OpenGL drivers, and Python 3.11+. It is not an older-distribution compatibility build. Windows and macOS have not been tested.
Download and run
Download RogueTripRecomp-0.1.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage, make it executable, and run it. If FUSE is unavailable, add --appimage-extract-and-run.
This is a setup launcher: supply your own supported disc and follow Generate & rebuild. The first build needs CMake, Ninja and a C/C++ toolchain; the wizard can download PSXRecomp's portable toolchain. Internet access may be needed for dependencies. The AppImage contains no ROM, extracted game executable or compiled game code.
The writable installation is ${XDG_DATA_HOME:-~/.local/share}/RogueTripRecomp/0.1.0. Subsequent launches reuse the locally compiled game. Keep the CUE and all 17 BIN tracks together for CD audio.
Supported dump
Rogue Trip - Vacation 2012 (USA), SLUS-00643, boot EXE SLUS_006.43, 17 tracks. Hashes identify the Track 01 BIN, not the CUE or concatenated image:

Other regions and revisions are untested. SHA256SUMS verifies the downloaded AppImage (separate from the disc hashes above).
Validation
- Intro FMV, menus, rotating vehicle selection and XLAX gameplay reached using OpenBIOS.
- Windowed OpenGL rendering and valid/invalid SDL disc-drop events checked.
- AppImage first-run launcher opened in an isolated installation.
- Packaged sources generated and compiled the native game in a fresh directory using the local system toolchain.
Testing has not covered every vehicle, long sessions, two-player play, save/load round-trips or audio accuracy. Rewind and netplay are disabled. The wizard's automatic portable-toolchain download has not been tested end-to-end.
PSXRecomp and this project's contributions use PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. recomp-ui and the launcher patch use MIT. OpenBIOS and other dependencies retain their notices; see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
