CaptionFlow 0.2.0

First public release after the rename from obs-ai-caption. On-device, real-time captions for OBS Studio 31.0+, powered by sherpa-onnx streaming Zipformer. Audio never leaves your machine after the one-time model download.

  • GitHub Actions CI for Windows x64 and macOS universal
  • On-demand ASR model downloader UI with 3 preset models
  • Optional SHA-256 verification of downloaded model archives (per-preset opt-in)
  • Simplified Chinese (zh-CN) locale — OBS in CN now follows the OBS UI language

  • Plugin now loads via obs_register_source from C++ plugin-main.cpp
  • Settings UI gains a Download Model… button
  • AsrEngine::Impl now held via std::unique_ptr for exception-safe lifetime

  • Consumer-side lost-wakeup race in AudioRingBuffer::wait_for_data
  • Caption file never being written because of duplicate should_emit_file_update consumption
  • ASR stats log de-duplicating against stale counters after engine restart
  • Audio filter no longer dereferences NULL when obs_get_audio() returns NULL during teardown
  • Removed dead extracted_subdir_ member in the model downloader dialog

Install

Download captionflow-0.2.0-windows-x64.zip (Windows) or captionflow-0.2.0-macos-universal.pkg (macOS) below.

  • Windows: extract → merge obs-plugins\ and data\obs-plugins\ into %ProgramFiles%\obs-studio\. SmartScreen → More info → Run anyway.
  • macOS: open the .pkg. Right-click → Open → Open to bypass Gatekeeper on this unsigned build.
