Blackwire v0.3.0-beta.2 — Current test beta
Current test beta. Download Blackwire-Beta.elf. This one ELF includes setup logging. Load only one Blackwire resident.
This standalone browser beta fixes two reproduced connection-settings bugs and adds diagnostics for connection checks that fail before saving.
Fixes
- Publish valid saved settings before the initial library scan, so a slow scan does not present a blank, disabled setup form.
- Release a browser's obsolete pending settings operation when the Blackwire resident changes. Keep the draft and require Reload settings status before an explicit save; never replay the old request automatically.
- Record credential-free settings-file refusal categories and SMB connection/catalog/artwork failure stages. The optional read-only collector now includes selected setup status.
The exFAT reader and self-contained step-7 installer from beta.1 remain included. The embedded reader itself is byte-identical to beta.1. Existing preview releases and the normal Payload Manager catalog are preserved.
Install and check
- Finish pending operations, close any running game normally and stop the old Blackwire resident. Keep your share,
share.conf, original images and preparations. - Load Blackwire-Beta.elf, reopen/reload the page and confirm
/healthreports blackwire-v0.3.0-beta.2. - Let discovery finish. If an old browser check reports a restart, use Reload settings status, review the preserved draft and explicitly choose Save and Check if needed.
- If the check fails, retain the exact message and collect the evidence in BETA-TESTING.md. The settings file is
/data/blackwire/share.conf. Discovery completes before a new connection is committed, so an image-scan failure can prevent a save. A failed check keeps the previous settings.
Download the ELF, test instructions, optional collector and checksums below. Matching corresponding source and byte-identical relinking materials are included. Never attach credentials, raw state dumps, game files or console libraries to a public report.
Verified scope and remaining reports
The clean SDK build passed 167 commands and 15 host suites with unchanged inputs. The actual-page suite passed 91 tests plus 19 browser-handoff cases. Disposable filesystem tests cover fresh settings saves and unsafe/invalid file refusals.
On the recorded 13.00-family console, this exact resident reported saved settings during startup discovery, returned all seven library entries, preserved the settings file after a deliberately failed SMB check, and passed a valid unchanged connection check. The served page matched; all 35 preparation/global control-file hashes and saved settings were preserved. The collector excluded the saved password, server address and browser token.
The GitHub reporter's remaining no-games/connection failure still needs their status and logs. A separate Reddit report of frontend/preparation idle authority refusal has not been reproduced or confirmed fixed by this release; retain its build/payload versions and lifecycle evidence. Do not bypass idle checks or erase preparations to force a retry. Gameplay and controlled loading-speed comparisons were not repeated for this settings repair.
Blackwire v0.3.0-beta.1 — Previous version
Previous version — retained for rollback. For the current test beta, use the current release and its Blackwire-Beta.elf.
Test beta for issue #2: supported MkPFS exFAT images and automatic reader setup, with bounded Send/setup logging.
Download Blackwire-Beta.elf and BETA-TESTING.md below. This is the standalone browser version; the native Dashboard is separate. The normal Payload Manager catalog and earlier working/logging release downloads are unchanged.
What changed
- Read supported contiguous exFAT layouts inside
.ffpfscimages, including the default output reproduced with the reporter's MkPFS 0.0.9 and 1.1.0 folder command. Existing supported PFS/PFSC layouts remain accepted. There is no need to repack the whole library for this test. - Remove setup step 7's hidden dependency on
/data/shadowmount/fakelib. Blackwire installs and verifies the reader already embedded in its ELF. No empty-directory workaround or manually copied global pack is required. - Preserve qualified optional game companions and recognized legacy private bundles; retain refusal for unknown/altered files and uncertain operations.
- Include the bounded setup logger and a credential-excluding diagnostic collector. Improve exFAT metadata lookup work without increasing the 64 MiB payload-cache budget.
How to test
- Close the running game, finish pending operations, and stop the old Blackwire resident. Load only Blackwire-Beta.elf; keep your current images, shares and preparation records.
- Check
/health: build ID blackwire-v0.3.0-beta.1. Keep your usual jailbreak/Kstuff/ShadowMountPlus environment. - Refresh the original share once and record accepted versus rejected image counts. Try Finish setup for retained startup files, or Send files for one new affected game.
- If Ready, try launch and report menu/gameplay results. If it fails, save
/data/blackwire/send-diagnostic.logand/data/blackwire/library.logbefore resetting or uninstalling anything. - Optionally run
python collect-diagnostics.py --ps5 <PS5-address> --output blackwire-beta-summary.json. Attach the reviewed summary and logs with tool/payload versions, packing command and the exact failure. Do not attach credentials, raw state dumps, game images or console libraries.
Verified scope
The complete clean-export SDK build passed 164 commands and twelve host suites. The absent-global-folder failure was reproduced before the repair and passes afterward. Actual upgrade, reader selection, removal and bounded-logger tests pass. Matching source and independently verified byte-identical relinking material accompany this ELF.
On the recorded 13.00-family console, this exact beta passed normal removal/restoration and a genuinely fresh NFS exFAT preparation, including step 7 and dashboard registration. The fresh copy contains only the embedded reader, with its bytes/hash verified. Setup steps 2–13 were captured successfully. The game reached its Continue screen and closed normally. Other preparations and the global pack were unchanged. Driving, direct Games-icon launch, repeat launch and the reporter's exact environment are not yet confirmed on this beta. No universal firmware/title compatibility or controlled loading-speed improvement is claimed.
The attached BUILD-VERIFICATION.json and SHA256SUMS.txt identify the exact files. Relink and source archives exclude private debug logs, credentials, game content and external console libraries. The beta's reader SHA-256 is 39cc8ff48a8b53886be0f7c5f1d43bc504fb989c00a9adc050dcade72865c441.
Blackwire v0.2.0-preview.1-sendlog.1 — Previous version
Previous version — retained for rollback. For the current test beta, use the current release and its Blackwire-Beta.elf.
Two ELF downloads
| Build | Download | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Working release | Blackwire.elf | Unchanged v0.2.0-preview.1 for normal use. |
| Diagnostic logging | Blackwire-SendLog.elf | Extra Send/setup logs for investigating missing games and step-7 failures. |
Choose one and load only one Blackwire resident at a time. No pull request or merge is required. Both files are the existing verified binaries; neither was rebuilt for this download-page update. The normal Payload Manager catalog is unchanged.
The attached source ZIP and relinking archive correspond to Blackwire-SendLog.elf. For Blackwire.elf, its unchanged corresponding source and relinking material remain in the original v0.2.0-preview.1 release. Etawen normal-source mirror. SHA256SUMS.txt covers every manually attached file other than the checksum file itself.
Optional logging build for the v0.2.0-preview.1 reports involving missing .ffpfsc candidates and Send files / Finish setup failing at step 7.
This is a diagnostic, not a confirmed fix. The normal release and Payload Manager catalog are unchanged. It uses the same embedded game reader as v0.2.0-preview.1.
How to test
- Download Blackwire-SendLog.elf and DIAGNOSTICS.md below. Keep your normal ELF for rollback.
- Close the running game, wait for pending operations, and stop the current Blackwire resident in Payload Manager before loading the diagnostic. Run only one resident.
- Check
/health: build ID blackwire-v0.2.0-preview.1-sendlog.1. Keep the failing share layout, refresh the library, and try Send files or Finish setup once. - Save
/data/blackwire/send-diagnostic.logand/data/blackwire/library.logbefore uninstalling or resetting anything. The dedicated log is capped at approximately 1 MiB. - Optionally run
python collect-diagnostics.py --ps5 <PS5-address> --output blackwire-diagnostic-summary.jsonon your PC. It collects selected diagnostic fields using GET requests and excludes SMB credentials, settings and the browser token. - Include your firmware, ShadowMountPlus/Kstuff versions, packing tool/version/command, file count and layout, and exact failure message. Review logs for titles and paths before posting; do not post configuration files, raw state dumps, passwords or game files.
What was verified
Three compressed images were detected together at one share root. Fresh RE7 and GTA V setup passed on the public release. Fresh RE4 setup passed on this diagnostic in about 177 seconds, including step 7 in about 0.45 seconds. Both startup and dashboard readiness passed. The reporter's failure has not reproduced with those three files; larger collections and the reporter's files remain unverified. These are setup observations, not speed benchmarks or gameplay qualification.
The package adds bounded setup logging and directory-failure details without changing compressed-format support, the reader, or ownership/retry checks. Host checks and a byte-identical relink verification passed. Matching source, relinking materials and SHA-256 checksums are attached. No private test logs, credentials or game content are distributed.
Blackwire v0.2.0-preview.1 — Previous version
Previous version — retained for rollback. For the current test beta, use the current release and its Blackwire-Beta.elf.
Blackwire v0.2.0-preview.1 adds supported compressed streaming and two SMB shares to the standalone web preview.
Added and fixed
- Supported unsigned contiguous D32 PFS/PFSC and one-file PFS-wrapper images, including the tested .ffpfsc samples. No PC decompression service is required.
- Two shares on the same PC and account in one library; extracted and compressed games can stay separate.
- Artwork read directly from compressed images.
- Known-reader Finish setup upgrades that retain valid startup files, exact-source registration matching and compressed-read cancellation recovery.
- Indexed 64 MiB payload cache, bounded PFSC batching and reduced unchanged-source startup verification.
- Refresh library, visible running-game Send/Refresh explanations and PS5 controller hints.
- Circle confirmed to close Details and return from the main library to the PS5 dashboard.
Setup and tested scope
Use the recorded 0x13000040 profile, Kstuff and stock ShadowMountPlus 1.7-beta5fix1. Set ShadowMount Library scan depth to 2 for the documented layout. Read-only SMB permissions are sufficient. Load Blackwire, connect the share(s), Send files and wait for Ready. Recommended launch route: return to the PS5 Games dashboard and select the game's normal icon. Keep Blackwire running and the share available.
Earlier compressed-reader tests confirmed GTA V driving and RE7 controllable gameplay; GTA also passed an explicit Games-icon driving test. The current combined-library reader reached both initial menus. These are separate artifact-specific observations, not full-game guarantees for the new package. Controlled PS5 loading benchmarks remain pending.
A separately running Game Compressor was using about 96% of a CPU core while idle. After stopping it, unchanged-reader comparison launches completed without the earlier system-dialog error. This supports CPU contention as a contributor; it does not establish a sole cause or RAM exhaustion.
Known issues
- The redundant Close browser button still stays open on PS5. Use Circle; the button will be removed in the next build.
- The .ffpfsc extension alone does not establish compatibility. exFAT-based output, signed/encrypted PFS and other unsupported layouts are refused.
- Broader gameplay/firmware coverage, hardware compressed-copy Uninstall and interrupted-operation recovery still need qualification.
- A full native Blackwire Dashboard is in development separately.
This package preserves the exact console-tested blackwire-two-sources-dev.11 executable. Matching source, static relinking material and SHA-256 checksums are attached. No game content, settings, credentials, captures or external console libraries are distributed.
Blackwire v0.1.0-preview.1 — Previous version
Previous version — retained for rollback. For the current test beta, use the current release and its Blackwire-Beta.elf.
Blackwire standalone streaming preview
Prepare extracted PS5 game folders from an ordinary SMB share, wait for Ready,
then return to the regular PS5 Games dashboard and launch the game icon.
The games run on the PS5. Keep Blackwire.elf running and the PC/share online.
No additional Blackwire PC server, Python or Node service is required.
The tested setup uses profile 0x13000040, Kstuff-lite, stock ShadowMountPlus
1.7-beta5fix1, wired Ethernet and Library scan_depth=2 for the documented folder
layout. Follow the README for external runtime libraries and share permissions.
First preparation time varies by game size and file count. Sparse placeholders
retain original logical file lengths while allocating fewer console blocks.
Menu and scene loading performance still needs optimization. Wider title and
firmware testing is ongoing; see the recorded test scope and preview limits.
This release includes Blackwire.elf, corresponding source, matching static
relinking materials and SHA256SUMS.txt. Documentation contains no image embeds
or screenshot archive. The compiled resident and reader are unchanged from the
qualified preview; repository links and documentation are updated.
A separate full native Blackwire Dashboard is already in development.
