WxGamepadFiles

A Virtual Gamepad for macOS and Android that enables seamless gameplay for emulator games. It simulates keyboard and mouse inputs through real-time key mappings via WebSocket communication.

Steps to Install and Set Up WxGamepad Virtual Gamepad on macOS

Download and Install WxGamepad Visit the WxGamepad GitHub repository and download the latest macOS installation package (DMG or ZIP file). Open the downloaded file and drag the application to your Applications folder. Launch the app from your Applications folder.

Grant Accessibility Permissions

Important: Accessibility permissions are required for WxGamepad to simulate keyboard and mouse inputs. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab. In the left-hand sidebar, select Accessibility. Find WxGamepad in the list of apps and check the box next to it to allow access. If WxGamepad is not listed, click the "+" button, navigate to your Applications folder, select WxGamepad, and click Open to add it. You may need to restart the app after granting permission.

Scan the QR Code

Open the WxGamepad application. The app will display a QR code on the main screen. Use your mobile device or another emulator to scan the QR code using the WxGamepad app. The app will automatically establish a connection between your mobile device and macOS for key mapping.

Troubleshooting (If it Still Doesn't Work)

If the app still doesn't work after following the steps above, you may need to reset accessibility permissions: Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab. Select Accessibility and remove WxGamepad from the list (by unchecking the box). and open application again Add WxGamepad back to the list of apps and grant accessibility permissions as described in step 2. Test the Connection Once permissions are correctly set, the gamepad should be ready to use. Test it with a compatible emulator or game that accepts keyboard/mouse inputs.
