Adding a Server

Once you've logged in, connect your first Rust server so you can manage it via RCON.

Prerequisites on the Rust server

Your Rust dedicated server needs RCON enabled via its startup arguments (or server.cfg):

+rcon.web 1
+rcon.port <port>
+rcon.password <password>

The panel uses WebSocket-based RCON, so rcon.web 1 must be set — the older raw-socket RCON isn't supported.

The panel connects out to your game server, not the other way around — so the RCON port needs to be reachable from wherever the panel itself is running (open it in your firewall/NAT if the panel and game server are on different networks). The panel itself never needs to be reachable from the game server.

Add the server in the panel

  1. Go to Manage Servers and click Add Server (or Add Your First Server if this is your first one).
  2. Fill in:
Field Description
Server Name A friendly name for the server, e.g. My Rust Server
Server Address The IP or hostname of the Rust server, e.g. 123.456.789.0
RCON Port The port from +rcon.port (must be between 1 and 65535)
Server Password The password from +rcon.password
Modding Framework None, Oxide, or Carbon — whichever your server runs, if any
RustRconServerManager Mod Installed Toggle on if you've installed the companion Oxide/uMod plugin (see below)
  1. Click Add Server.

The panel immediately tests the RCON connection before saving anything — if it can't connect, it shows an error and nothing is added, so double-check the address, port, password, and that the port is reachable. On success, the server is saved and the panel connects automatically — there's no separate "connect" step.

After adding

  • The live console and chat (over RCON, via SignalR) are available right away.
  • If this was your first server, it's automatically selected so the rest of the panel becomes usable immediately.
  • The server list refreshes every 10 seconds, showing each server's connection status.
  • If you enabled RustRconServerManager Mod Installed, open the Initialize Panel Mod wizard from Manage Servers to finish wiring up the companion plugin — it pulls live map, sleeping bag, and tool cupboard data over the same RCON connection, so the panel never needs to be reachable from your game server.

Adding more servers

Repeat the same steps for each additional Rust server — the panel manages any number of servers from one instance.
