IR Transmitter (IR Send) Not Functioning on T-Embed CC1101 Plus

Hi,

I am unable to get any Infrared (IR) signal output from my T-Embed CC1101 Plus. I have performed extensive troubleshooting, including re-flashing the official factory firmware, Bruce or the custom sketches provided in the T-Embed examples repo, and the IR LED remains inactive.

IR send / transmit not working.
IR receive - functional.

Steps Taken:

1. Factory Firmware: Flashed the latest factory firmware from the official repository.
2. Visual Verification: Checked the IR LED using a camera (confirmed camera works with standard TV remotes); no flicker detected.
3. Tester Verification: Verified with a TC1 multi-function tester; no IR signal detected.
4. I've tried Bruce firmware IR send function as well, that doesn't work either.

You have conducted so many tests and still cannot use infrared, possibly because the infrared emitter tube is damaged:

1、Return/Exchange: You can record a video showing whether the infrared emitter tube emits a faint purple light while operating. If no faint purple light is captured, you can apply for a return or exchange.

2、Repair: You may open the device to check if the positive and negative terminals of the infrared emitter tube are soldered incorrectly. If they are not, the only solution would be to replace the infrared emitter tube.

I didn't return it, I still have it. Issue still there and no reply from the official Lilygo support. Will not buy again.

I’m having the same issue (I’m using the Bruce firmware). I’ve tried a factory reset, completely removing the firmware and reinstalling it, downgrading the firmware, and various other software-related solutions, but none of them worked at all. As it happens, my rotary encoder was also malfunctioning (a classic problem). After that, I took it apart to clean it using isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs.

But, on a whim, I decided to carefully clean the IR module as well, and it actually worked. My rotary encoder is working normally, as is the IR feature (specifically the transmitter). From what I’ve tested, the IR range works up to 3–4 meters, just like when I first bought it.

Maybe that’s often the issue, because I think the IR module itself is sensitive and easily stops working optimally if there’s even a slight disturbance (like dirt, for example).

Technical issues may vary, but there’s no harm in trying, and I hope this helps.

Estou com o mesmo problema (estou usando o firmware Bruce). Já tentei restaurar as configurações de fábrica, remover completamente o firmware e reinstalá-lo, fazer o downgrade do firmware e várias outras soluções relacionadas a software, mas nenhuma funcionou. Por coincidência, meu encoder rotativo também estava com defeito (um problema clássico). Depois disso, desmontei-o para limpá-lo com álcool isopropílico e cotonetes.

Mas, por um capricho, decidi limpar cuidadosamente o módulo de infravermelho também, e funcionou. Meu encoder rotativo está funcionando normalmente, assim como a função de infravermelho (especificamente o transmissor). Pelo que testei, o alcance do infravermelho funciona até 3-4 metros, exatamente como quando o comprei.

Talvez esse seja o problema frequente, pois acredito que o próprio módulo de infravermelho seja sensível e pare de funcionar de forma ideal com facilidade se houver até mesmo uma pequena perturbação (como sujeira, por exemplo).

Os problemas técnicos podem variar, mas não custa tentar, e espero que isso ajude.

I had to do the same thing. I disassembled it, cleaned it, and saw that the signal from the transmitter LED is very weak.
But I'm still having reception problems.
