AA Keyboard Unlock v2.2.0

LSPosed module that unlocks the Android Auto on-screen keyboard while driving.

Install

  1. Install aa-keyboard-unlock-2.2.0.apk on a rooted device with LSPosed
  2. LSPosed Manager → enable module → scope Android Auto and Google Maps
  3. Open AA Keyboard Unlock → enable Unlock keyboard while active
  4. Force-stop Android Auto and reconnect to your head unit

Logging build: aa-keyboard-unlock-2.2.0-log.apk enables verbose MAPS-DRIVE traces in LSPosed log (for development / DHU capture). Same behavior otherwise.

What it unlocks

  • External app text fields (WhatsApp reply, messaging, etc.)
  • Google Maps Car search bar (including drive mode / voice-only path)
  • Car App SearchTemplate / Voice Plate keyboard hints

Mic dictation stays available; search taps open QWERTY instead of voice-only.

Requirements

  • Rooted device (Magisk or KernelSU) with LSPosed
  • Android Auto + Google Maps installed

First launch after install

Maps runs a one-time background discovery scan per Maps version (cache schema v15). Wait ~10–30s after first open before testing search tap; subsequent launches use the warm cache.

Tested with

  • Android Auto 17.4.663004-release
  • Google Maps 26.31 / 26.33
  • LSPosed API 102 (libxposed)

See CHANGELOG for v2.2.0 details.

Safety

Disabling driving-distraction protections may be illegal in your jurisdiction. Use only when safe and legal. Module defaults to disabled.
