Warcraft CS by Yazgul 0.3.0
Warcraft CS 0.3.0 now includes a Windows launcher with verified release updates, optional automatic installation, installation logs and Play. All current feature branches have been merged into release/0.3.0, including the Miles audio runtime repair and remembered private sword support.
Download and start
Download WarcraftCSLauncher.exe, or extract WarcraftCS-0.3.0-dist.zip, from the assets below. Existing users must download this updated launcher once to get the updater. Windows 10/11 x64 is required. You need your own Warcraft III 1.26a and Counter-Strike 1.6 installations; neither game is downloaded or included.
- Run the EXE and select your folders:
| Launcher field | Select | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Warcraft III 1.26a folder | Game root containing war3.exe, Game.dll (1.26.0.6401), Mss32.dll and Warcraft MPQ archives. | E:\Warcraft III |
| Counter-Strike 1.6 folder | cstrike containing models and sound; its Half-Life parent is also accepted. |
C:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Half-Life\cstrike |
| Install Warcraft CS here | A separate writable destination outside both games. | Default %LOCALAPPDATA%\WarcraftCS, or D:\WarcraftCS |
- Read the download details and license terms, tick the agreement box, then click Install / Update. No download/installation starts before agreement.
- Wait for Ready. Missing Python, Microsoft C++ tools/Windows SDK, NumPy and MinHook are prepared automatically; existing tools are reused. Microsoft setup may require several GB, administrator approval or a Windows restart. After a restart, retry Install with the same folders.
- Click Play, choose Single Player → Custom Game or Campaign, start a map, select your own living unit and press F6. WASD/mouse moves/aims, left mouse shoots, R reloads, 1–7 selects weapons, F6 returns to RTS.
The folder examples are illustrative. Do not select the Steam library root, Warcraft Maps/save, an individual EXE or the CS models subfolder. Original game folders remain unchanged; setup creates a private game copy.

Release updates
The launcher checks the latest stable GitHub release on startup. Enable Automatically apply future project updates while accepting the download agreement to remember permission for future launches. Without this opt-in, use Check for updates and Install / Update after accepting the agreement.
Updates verify the release manifest and SHA256 of the complete source ZIP and launcher, install a new source revision, rebuild the private mod/assets, then replace and restart the launcher. Existing saves, maps, INI settings and remembered private sword choices are preserved. The launcher refuses to update a running Warcraft match. Offline Play remains available when GitHub is unavailable.
The EXE is replaced only after successful setup, and its previous version is kept as a backup. A failed setup disables Play until a successful retry, retaining the private sword selection for recovery.
The distribution ZIP contains the EXE, EXE checksum, exact source package and update manifest. No retail game files, converted game assets or downloaded dependencies are included.
Updated package source: release/0.3.0 at 892839ea0548b7378f5a8f04d44b89fa68124364. The published v0.3.0 tag remains unchanged; GitHub's automatic tag archives still contain the original snapshot. Use WarcraftCS-sources.zip for this updated build.

Verification and limits
- All seven C++ logic suites and launcher consent/path/source-payload tests passed. Updater version/build checks, corrupt package rejection, ZIP traversal and update-cache junction protection, running-game refusal, delayed EXE replacement, backup and restart also passed.
- Complete isolated installation and release-package update passed using existing Python/MSVC/SDK. A failed-update retry preserved the private sword selection, custom INI setting and saved-file bytes. Earlier installation checks also covered Unicode and special-character folder names.
- Source and client package checks passed with zero failures/warnings; the EXE embeds audited project-owned source, without proprietary game assets or prebuilt dependencies.
- Fresh vendor installation on a clean Windows machine, all campaign missions and every custom map remain unverified. Offline single-player Warcraft III 1.26a only; Reforged is unsupported.
- The project EXE is unsigned. Downloaded Python and Microsoft installers have verified vendor signatures.
EXE SHA256: 27740b168011b5aa9b32a3833edb20de9315fd916b87f05120584332a1fdba71 (also provided as an asset).
The Git repository remains source-only. Keep all generated game copies/assets private. Previous release/feature branches and published tags are retained.
