Warcraft CS by Yazgul 0.4.0
Warcraft CS 0.4.0 fixes oversized tree targeting, adds mouse-wheel weapon selection and includes a complete requirements guide. The Windows launcher installs verified release updates while preserving the player's separate Warcraft runtime, saves and settings.
What changed
- Tree targeting: shots test the tree's ground-connected trunk triangles. Empty canopy space no longer intercepts shots aimed beside the trunk. Gates retain their existing model-bound collision.
- Mouse wheel: scroll down for the next weapon and up for the previous weapon; all seven slots wrap around. Keys 1–7 remain available. Partial wheel steps accumulate, and focus changes or disabled states clear pending input.
- Requirements: REQUIREMENTS.md lists supported Windows/game versions, owned files, Python/MSVC/SDK dependencies, source builds and release publishing requirements. It is also attached separately and included in the distribution ZIP.
- Includes the launcher auto updater, remembered private sword selection and the Miles audio provider repair from the completed 0.3.0 feature branches.
Download and start
Download WarcraftCSLauncher.exe, or extract WarcraftCS-0.4.0-dist.zip, from the assets below.
You need Windows 10/11 x64 and your own complete Warcraft III 1.26a (Game.dll 1.26.0.6401) and Counter-Strike 1.6 installations. Game files are supplied locally by their owner.
- Select your Warcraft III root and
cstrikefolder (or its Half-Life parent). - Choose a dedicated writable installation folder outside both games.
- Accept the download/install agreement and click Install / Update, then Play.
- In a map, select a living owned unit and press F6 for FPS mode. Use the wheel or 1–7 to select weapons.
Missing Python, Microsoft C++ tools/SDK, NumPy and the pinned MinHook source are prepared after consent. See the installation guide.
Existing launcher users
The updated 0.3.0 launcher detects this stable release. Enable Automatically apply future project updates when Warcraft is closed to apply it on startup, or use Check for updates and Install / Update with consent. Close Warcraft before updating.
Updates verify the manifest and source/EXE SHA256, install the new project sources, rebuild the local mod/assets, and then replace/restart the launcher with a previous-version backup. Saves, maps, custom INI values and remembered private sword selections are preserved. Offline Play remains available if GitHub cannot be reached.
The original 0.3.0 launcher without the update controls needs one manual launcher download.
Packages and verification
The distribution ZIP contains the EXE, its checksum, exact embedded source ZIP, update manifest and requirements guide. Game files, converted assets, private swords, saves and downloaded dependencies are excluded. The Git tag v0.4.0 identifies this release's source snapshot.
- All nine C++ suites and launcher/updater regression checks passed.
- A disposable native Warcraft session verified tree trunk hits, adjacent misses, gate hits and wheel switching/wraparound.
- The original updater-enabled 0.3.0 assembly completed a 0.4.0 package installation/rebuild; saved-file bytes, custom settings and remembered sword selection were preserved.
- Source publication lint: 147 files, zero failures and zero warnings.
The project EXE is unsigned. Fresh vendor-tool installation on a clean Windows machine and complete campaign/custom-map compatibility remain unverified. Arbitrary imported/animated tree models may need map-specific verification. Offline Warcraft III 1.26a is the supported host.
