QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.27
Downloads
- Windows installer — installs the hub, headset app and tracking components.
- Standalone VRCFaceTracking module ZIP — install through VRCFT's local module installer. Includes the module DLL, dependency manifest,
module.json, license and setup instructions. Addresses #4. - Headset APK — separate download for sideloading; identical to the APK bundled with the Windows installer. Use
adb install -rto update while retaining app data.
SHA-256 checksum files accompany all three downloads. The .nupkg, RELEASES and releases.win.json files support automatic Windows updates. QproFaceTracking.App-win-Setup.exe is the same installer under the updater's standard filename.
Changes since rc.26
- Quest Pro controller battery levels now appear in SteamVR, including when using Virtual Desktop. Fixes #3.
- Standalone VRCFT packaging and Linux-safe module startup. A compatible .NET 10-based VRCFT host can receive authenticated tracking from QFT+ Headset without the Windows hub. Follow
INSTALL.txtinside the module ZIP for installation and pairing. This supports headset processing; PC camera processing and Virtual Desktop shared-memory input still require Windows. - Voice-driven visemes, including headset microphone input.
- Rendered avatar preview during calibration, plus fixes for calibration dialogs and activity cleanup.
- Backup and recovery of headset settings and calibration across reinstalls.
- Expanded Windows and Quest localization with Crowdin translation support.
- Fixes for headset discovery, shutdown and backup recovery failures, with a streamlined headset page and search.
This remains a prerelease. The Windows installer is not Authenticode-signed. The standalone module was checked for Windows loading and Linux authenticated pairing/tracking output; a full Linux VR session was not tested.
Older installations
When updating from rc.24 or earlier, back up %LOCALAPPDATA%\QproFaceTracking and %APPDATA%\VRCFaceTracking\QproAutoStart.json outside the QFT+ folders first. The app removes the old personal face engine's models, recordings and training files at startup. Versions older than rc.24 should follow the rc.24 migration instructions before installing this release.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.26
This release adds QFT+ Headset, an experimental app that processes tracking on the headset. It also adds Studio search, clearer status displays, and a paired connection to VRCFaceTracking.
What changed
Tracking on the headset
- QFT+ can install and pair the headset app from your PC. Open Settings and select Track on the headset (experimental). Keep the headset awake and connected during setup.
- The headset app processes camera images and runs the face model. It includes pupil detection and saved calibration. The PC can receive the tracking results through the QFT+ VRCFaceTracking module.
- You can control tracking from either app. Start, Stop, feature settings, and tracking status are available on the PC and headset.
- The headset app can keep tracking while another app is open. The optional Resume after restart setting starts tracking again if it was on before the headset restarted.
- You can select the update rate. The options are Fastest, 30 per second, and 20 per second. A rate change restarts tracking.
- PC processing remains available. The headset mode is optional. Its accuracy, battery use, and heat are still being tested.
Calibration inside the headset
- Face and tongue calibration uses a Meta avatar. Copy 12 expressions, including tongue directions and cheek movements. The procedure takes about 75 seconds when no steps need a retry.
- Pupil calibration uses a target in a changing light level. Follow the target as the space becomes darker and brighter. The procedure takes about 80 seconds when no steps need a retry.
- Calibration waits for the required tracking data. It reports missing camera data and failed checks. A failed or cancelled procedure keeps the previous saved calibration.
- The calibration space has distance and motion settings. You can adjust the avatar distance and select Reduce motion.
- Separate eye tracking has a Convergence control in the headset app. It includes a strength setting. Unsupported eye-model layouts produce an error. Turn off Convergence to use standard gaze if this feature fails.
Output and connections
- The headset app offers three output choices. Select QFT+ on this PC, VRChat, or OSC apps under Connections.
- Direct output supports receiver discovery and manual addresses. Choose a discovered receiver, or enter its IPv4 address and port. Tracking must be started again after a destination change.
- The VRCFaceTracking module accepts paired headset output. The connection checks message authenticity, order, and age before it accepts tracking data.
- Pairing replies identify the requesting device. The bridge also rejects repeated adjustment requests. Old tracking data cannot keep the current output active indefinitely.
- Output adjustments are available in the headset app. In PC mode, these controls change the output from the paired VRCFaceTracking module. Direct output uses adjustments on the headset.
- Connection failures have clearer messages. Tracking errors appear in the headset app and PC status. If the PC cannot stop the headset app, it tells you to stop tracking there.
Studio interface
- Search finds pages, settings, expression areas, and individual parameters. Select a result to open the related control. Search results follow the current tracking mode.
- The Headset page brings connection and setup controls together. New headset and controller images show connection states.
- Tracking status separates connection, startup, and error states. The interface also shows when the headset is tracking but VRCFaceTracking has not connected.
- Controls follow the selected processing mode. Headset calibration opens in QFT+ Headset. PC camera previews are hidden in headset mode.
- The update notice and progress display use the revised Studio layout. The installer retains the existing automatic update format.
Other changes
- The README now explains setup, privacy, and build requirements. It includes source credits and links to third-party code and assets.
- The package includes the headset app and its required components. You do not need a separate APK download for PC setup.
Update
- Finish or cancel the current calibration.
- Stop tracking on the PC and headset.
- Quit QFT+ from its tray menu.
- Close VRCFaceTracking and SteamVR.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.26-Setup.exe from the release assets.
- Run the installer.
- Open QFT+.
If automatic updates are unavailable, use this installer. It also updates local rc.25 test builds.
Try QFT+ Headset
- Connect the supported rooted Quest Pro to the PC.
- Keep the headset awake.
- Open Settings in QFT+.
- Select Track on the headset (experimental).
- Allow the QFT+ root request in the headset.
- Start tracking.
- Open Calibration and complete the required headset procedures.
If you already use the headset experiment, keep that headset connected when you start tracking. QFT+ installs the bundled app update when its package has changed.
CAUTION: TURNING OFF THE HEADSET EXPERIMENT REMOVES QFT+ HEADSET AND ITS SAVED CALIBRATION FROM THE HEADSET.
Install QFT+ Headset manually
The separate APK is the same headset app included in the Windows installer. It requires a supported rooted Quest Pro.
-
Download QFT-Plus-Headset-0.4.0-rc.26.apk from the release assets.
-
Enable Developer Mode on the headset.
-
Connect the headset to your PC with USB.
-
Allow USB debugging in the headset.
-
Install the APK with your sideload tool, or run this command from its download folder:
adb install -r QFT-Plus-Headset-0.4.0-rc.26.apk -
Open QFT+ Headset in the headset app library.
-
Allow the required permissions and the root request when shown.
-
Open Connections and select VRChat or OSC apps for direct output.
-
Choose a receiver, or enter its IPv4 address and port.
-
Start tracking and complete calibration in the headset app.
For VRChat output, enable OSC in the VRChat Action Menu.
Manual APK installation does not pair a new headset with the PC app. For paired VRCFaceTracking output, use Settings → Track on the headset (experimental) in QFT+ on the PC. Installing an update with adb install -r retains existing app data and pairing.
Updating from rc.24 or earlier
CAUTION: THE APP REMOVES THE OLDER PERSONAL FACE ENGINE. IT DELETES THAT ENGINE'S MODELS, CALIBRATION RECORDINGS, AND TRAINING FILES AT STARTUP.
Before installation, copy %LOCALAPPDATA%\QproFaceTracking to a backup folder outside the QFT+ folders. Also copy %APPDATA%\VRCFaceTracking\QproAutoStart.json if it exists.
For installations older than rc.24, first use the rc.24 installer. It contains the migration procedure for the older installation layout.

Requirements and known limits
This is a release candidate. Use a supported rooted Quest Pro. PC mode requires Windows 10/11 x64, SteamVR, and VRCFaceTracking with Virtual Desktop or Steam Link.
Use the included QFT+ VRCFaceTracking module for PC output. Hybrid hands require Virtual Desktop and remain experimental. Headset processing and depth accuracy also remain experimental.
The headset app uses installed Meta services. Support depends on the headset firmware and available tracking features. Root access is required.
The release tag points to commit f746ffd. The installer was built from f3387e7; the next commit only changes a README image. Build, package, and checksum checks passed. Fourteen focused headset tests passed. This release has not had a full hardware regression test.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.25.2
This release adds personal tongue-direction calibration to the face setup. It also updates the Studio controls and improves cheek calibration. It includes the installation fixes from rc.25.
What changed
Tongue direction from face setup
- Face setup now records five tongue positions. The prompts ask for straight out, up, down, left, and right. Keep your tongue out between these positions.
- The model uses these examples to fit the direction output to your face. It calculates horizontal and vertical movement from your recorded positions. You do not need a separate training tool.
- Each direction has its own range adjustment. The calculation limits the extra gain. This prevents a small recorded movement from producing unlimited output gain.
- Existing calibration files remain usable. If the file does not contain all five positions, the app uses the standard tongue-direction model. Repeat Calibration → Face to use the new personal calibration.
Face setup takes about one minute. More time for each pose increases this to about two minutes. Left and right refer to your own left and right.
Cheek calibration
- The model uses the relaxed face as its starting level. It also uses recorded cheek-puff and cheek-suck examples to set the expression range.
- Cheek puff can use fresh headset expression data. The app combines that data with the model output. The recorded left and right cheek examples help separate the two sides.
Studio controls
- Studio uses updated Windows controls. The changes cover calibration, numerical settings, thumbrest settings, and diagnostics.
- Thumbrest mode uses a selection list. The four modes remain Trackpad, Joystick, Swipe, and Mouse. The related controls change with the selected mode.
- The diagnostic viewer remains available in Settings. You can select a log, copy its text, or open it in an editor.
- The face guide has its own drawing code. Calibration and movement displays use the same guide.
Tester recordings
- Benchmarks include more tongue prompts. These include upward movement and the two upper diagonal directions.
- Face setup stores movement sequences separately. Contribution packages can include these sequences with the recorded face positions.
- Sharing remains optional. The app does not send recordings automatically. Contribution packages contain face-camera data.
Update
- Finish or cancel the current calibration.
- Stop tracking.
- Quit QFT+ from its tray menu.
- Close VRCFaceTracking.
- Close SteamVR.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.25.2-Setup.exe from the release assets.
- Run the installer.
- Open QFT+.
- Open Calibration → Face.
- Complete the new face setup to enable personal tongue-direction calibration.
Existing face calibration remains usable if you do not repeat setup. The app then uses the standard tongue-direction model when the required positions are missing.
If your app does not offer this update, use the installer above. This also applies to local test builds and earlier test copies of rc.25.2.
Existing universal face calibration and pupil calibration remain available.
For installations older than rc.24, first use the rc.24 installer. It contains the migration procedure for the older installation layout.
Release files
- QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.25.2-Setup.exe is the installer for manual installation.
- QproFaceTracking.App-win-Setup.exe is the same installer with the standard updater name.
- QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.25.2-Setup.sha256 contains the installer checksum.
- The
.nupkg,RELEASES, andreleases.win.jsonfiles support automatic updates.
Requirements and known limits
This is a release candidate. The requirements and connection limits from rc.25 still apply. Hybrid hands require Virtual Desktop and remain experimental.
This package was built from commit 3abf3d9. Package checks include file contents, version information, and checksums. This release has not had a full hardware regression test.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.25
Before you update
CAUTION: THIS RELEASE REMOVES THE OLDER PERSONAL FACE ENGINE. AT STARTUP, THE APP DELETES ITS PERSONAL MODELS AND CALIBRATION RECORDINGS.
The app also deletes the old training and downloads folders. It removes settings for the old engine. The universal face model replaces that engine. Existing universal face calibration and pupil calibration remain available.
To keep the old files, make a backup before you install or open rc.25. The Update procedure below includes this step.
What changed
Installation and update fixes
- Installed and development copies use separate startup locks. An open development copy no longer prevents the installed app from opening.
- The installed app uses its own data folder. An old launch argument cannot make it use a development folder instead.
- The installed app corrects its saved launch path. VRCFaceTracking can then start the installed executable.
- The app reads its installed version from the updater. A development manifest can no longer supply the displayed installed version.
Eye gaze during blinks
- The bridge detects blinks separately for each eye. It keeps the last gaze direction during a blink. It also keeps that direction for 100 milliseconds after the blink.
- Gaze can settle before output resumes. This prevents samples taken during a blink from immediately changing the output direction.
Hybrid hands and controllers
- Hybrid tracking now intercepts skeleton updates from the Oculus driver. A skeleton update contains the finger positions that SteamVR uses.
- The app blocks conflicting updates while hand tracking controls the skeleton. This prevents controller updates from replacing the active hand data.
- The app can obtain the skeleton identifier from a successful update. It uses this identifier when the usual stored identifiers are not available.
- Stopping hybrid tracking removes the added interception. The existing checks for driver removal and controller changes remain in place.
Hybrid hands still require Virtual Desktop. This feature remains experimental and depends on the installed driver version.
Face calibration
- The universal model is now the only face engine. It supplies cheek, brow, and tongue output. The app no longer offers separate training for the older personal models.
- The older training components are no longer required. This release has no optional legacy download. It removes the older PyTorch engine and GPU trainer from the app.
- Face calibration has an optional slower procedure. Select More time for each pose to increase the time available for each expression.
- Pupil calibration remains separate. Existing universal face calibration and pupil calibration files remain available after the update.
The older individually trained expression groups are no longer available. This includes the old lip, mouth, nose, and jaw training options.
Setup, tracking, and cleanup
- The app controls more of the tracking process directly. It now manages setup, Python preparation, tracking processes, and headset cleanup. This replaces several separate launch scripts.
- Tracking outputs use one local bridge port. Gaze, tongue, extra expressions, and pupil data use the revised bridge connection. The installer includes the matching bridge.
- A cleanup process starts on the headset before tracking starts. When its connection closes, it stops the relay and removes temporary tracking files. For independent gaze, it also restores the previous eye-model setting and removes the temporary model mount.
- The app reports cleanup problems. If hybrid cleanup cannot be confirmed, the message tells you to restart Virtual Desktop and SteamVR.
- Tracking logs have clearer names. The diagnostic viewer includes
tracking.log,eyes.log, andface.log, plus setup and hybrid logs.
Update
If you installed the withdrawn rc.25 package, run this installer manually. Automatic updates cannot distinguish two packages with the same version.
If you installed a local test build, also use this installer manually.
- Finish or cancel the current calibration.
- Stop tracking.
- Quit QFT+ from its tray menu.
- Close VRCFaceTracking.
- Close SteamVR.
- Copy
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QproFaceTrackingto a backup folder outside the QFT+ folders. - Copy
%APPDATA%\VRCFaceTracking\QproAutoStart.jsonto the backup folder, if the file exists. - Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.25-Setup.exe from the release assets.
- Run the installer.
- Open QFT+ after installation.
- If you used the older face engine, open Calibration → Face.
- Complete the face calibration.
If you stored personal models outside the standard folders, copy those files to the backup folder before installation.
For installations older than rc.24, first use the rc.24 installer. That version contains the migration procedure for the older installation layout.
Release files
- QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.25-Setup.exe is the installer for manual installation.
- QproFaceTracking.App-win-Setup.exe is the same installer with the standard updater name.
- QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.25-Setup.sha256 contains the installer checksum.
- The
.nupkg,RELEASES, andreleases.win.jsonfiles support automatic updates.
The app does not require the rc.24 legacy.zip file.
Requirements and known limits
This is a release candidate. The hardware requirements and connection limits from rc.24 still apply.
The requirements include Windows 10/11 x64, SteamVR, and a rooted Quest Pro on v2.7 or lower. Face tracking requires VRCFaceTracking and Virtual Desktop or Steam Link.
The local build passed build and package checks. This package also passed file, version, and checksum checks. It has not had a full hardware regression test.
Source archive
This package includes local changes that are not in the tagged source archive. No source files were committed or pushed for this release.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.24
This release brings the universal face model, a shorter face calibration, new Quest Pro controller inputs, and a rebuilt installation and update system. It includes all features from rc.18 and the changes developed in the intervening local previews.
What changed
Face tracking and calibration
- A universal model for cheeks, tongue, and brows. These features can now run without first training a separate personal model. The default face engine uses a shared model, with an optional calibration to adapt it to your relaxed face and expression range.
- Face setup takes about a minute. Open Calibration → Face and hold the guided expressions. The app saves examples of your face for the universal model; this setup does not require a separate model-training session. You can pause or skip prompts when needed.
- Clearer tracking status. The Tracking page shows whether cheeks, tongue, and brows are using the standard model or your face calibration. Pupil dilation keeps its separate calibration, which takes about 80 seconds.
- Older personal models remain available. Enable the older per-area calibrations in Settings to keep using or redo individual expression and tongue calibrations. These use an optional download of about 140 MB on first use. The universal model currently covers cheeks, brows, and tongue; other individually trained expression groups remain part of the older engine.
- Tongue and expression training refinements. The older training path has updated data preparation, training, and tongue-output processing. Existing personal calibrations remain available when using that engine.
Thumbrest and trigger inputs in SteamVR
- A QFT+ SteamVR driver adds thumbrest and trigger-slide inputs. Install it from Settings → Thumbrest and trigger, then start tracking. The trigger reports where your finger slides along its surface as a separate input you can bind in SteamVR.
- Four thumbrest modes: Trackpad exposes a regular SteamVR trackpad; Joystick turns a drag from your initial touch into stick movement and recenters when you lift; Swipe converts swipe speed into stick movement with adjustable glide; Mouse moves the Windows pointer and lets you press firmly to click.
- Controls to fit your hands. Adjust the left and right thumbrest angles independently, press sensitivity, resting-thumb rejection, and straightened scrolling. Joystick range, swipe speed and glide, mouse speed, and trigger-slide direction have their own controls.
- Driver management is in the app. You can install or remove the QFT+ driver from Settings. Removing it returns to the plain Touch controller setup; SteamVR may need to restart for driver changes to take effect. Games and SteamVR bindings determine how the new inputs are used.
Installation, updates, and removal
- A new installer and updater. QFT+ now uses Velopack to manage the installed application. The installer includes Python and the core tracking packages, and installs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime if it is missing. That prerequisite can require an internet connection.
- Optional components download when needed. The older personal-model trainer and models are separate from the main installer. They download automatically when you enable the older calibration engine, with file sizes and checksums checked by the component setup.
- Updates can install from QFT+. Installed copies can check GitHub, show the available version, download it with progress, and restart into the update. Automatic checking can be turned off. Finish any setup or calibration first; applying an update stops tracking while the app restarts.
- Your data stays in a persistent app folder. Settings, calibrations, and recordings are kept separately from the updater's versioned application files. On the first migration from the older installer, QFT+ adopts the existing installation and rewrites saved paths.
- Live diagnostics. The log viewer updates while a log is being written, keeps your place when you scroll back, and offers copying or opening the log in an editor. Tracking, eyes, face and tongue, headset relay, setup, components, and hybrid hands have separate entries.
- Uninstall from Settings. QFT+ can remove the app, its SteamVR driver, its VRCFaceTracking module, and shortcuts. Settings, calibrations, and recordings are kept by default. Deleting those too is an explicit checkbox in the uninstall dialog.
Hybrid hands and reliability
- One bridge publish per tracking loop. The VRCFaceTracking bridge now publishes the combined tracking state once per loop, removing duplicate publication in that path.
- More defensive hybrid startup and cleanup. Virtual Desktop hook initialization, controller selection, routing status, and shutdown handling have been revised. The app reports startup problems and exposes the hybrid log for diagnosis.
- Better routing diagnostics. Hybrid logs include timestamps and periodic controller-selection and PC-routing information to help investigate hand/controller transitions.
- ADB handling during setup and migration. The app has dedicated handling for its ADB server when preparing or moving an installation.
Optional tester recordings
- Guided benchmarks for contributors. Settings lets you opt into tester mode, which adds a short benchmark of about five minutes and a full benchmark of about eighteen minutes. Prompts, reading, and talking help check both intended expressions and unwanted activations. Benchmark recording does not change your tracking settings.
- A smaller package to share manually. The app prepares a contribution ZIP containing 128-pixel infrared images from the five face cameras, prompt timing, available headset expression labels, and face-calibration examples when present. It also includes a random tester ID and the consent record.
- Nothing is uploaded automatically. You choose whether to send the ZIP directly to the developer. It contains face-camera data, but no audio, color-camera recording, name, or account. Keep your tester ID if you later want to request deletion. Leaving tester mode hides the benchmark options; your local recordings remain.
Update
- Stop tracking and finish or cancel any calibration.
- Quit QFT+ from its tray menu and close VRCFaceTracking and SteamVR.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.24-Setup.exe from the assets below and run it.
- Let setup finish and open QFT+. Your existing settings, calibrations, and recordings are preserved during migration.
- Try Calibration → Face for the new universal model, or enable the older personal-model engine in Settings to keep using that workflow.
If you are moving from a local preview and its update checker does not offer this release, run the installer above directly.
The friendly-named Setup EXE is the normal download. QproFaceTracking.App-win-Setup.exe is the same installer under the updater's standard name. The .nupkg, RELEASES, and releases.win.json files support automatic updates; the legacy.zip is fetched by the app when needed. You do not need to extract those files manually. A SHA-256 checksum is provided alongside the installer.
Requirements and known limits
This is a release candidate. It requires Windows 10/11 x64, SteamVR, and a rooted Quest Pro on v2.7 or lower. Face tracking requires VRCFaceTracking and Virtual Desktop or Steam Link. Check root compatibility before starting.
Hybrid hands/controllers remains experimental and requires Virtual Desktop; it is sensitive to the installed Virtual Desktop version. Independent eye tracking has been tested on headset firmware 51483620027600340. After restarting the headset, reconnect USB once to restore Wi-Fi access. Use a trusted local network.
Use QFT+'s VRCFaceTracking module in place of the standalone SteamLink module because both use port 9015. Enable eye/face tracking on the headset and, with Virtual Desktop, enable Forward face/eye tracking to PC.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.18
This release fixes a hybrid hand-tracking issue that could make Virtual Desktop on the headset unresponsive. It includes all features from rc.17.
What changed
- Hybrid hand-hook thread cleanup. QFT+ now detaches its hook thread from the headset's managed runtime after initialization and other temporary operations. This avoids leaving the thread attached while idle, which could cause Virtual Desktop to stop responding.
Update
- Stop tracking and finish or cancel any calibration.
- Quit QFT+ from its tray menu and close VRCFaceTracking.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.18-Setup.exe from the assets below.
- Open the installer and select Install.
The installer preserves your settings, personal calibrations, and recordings, and opens QFT+ when ready.
This is a release candidate. The requirements and known limits from rc.17 still apply.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.17
This release improves installation upgrades, adds the headset relay log to diagnostics, and updates hybrid controller routing. It includes all features from rc.16.
What changed
- Updates keep your data together. The installer moves saved settings, personal calibrations, models, and recordings into the new installation and updates their saved paths. Conflicting older files are preserved under previous-data, and the original settings are backed up under upgrade-backup.
- Old-installation cleanup. The installer prepares the runtime and opens the new app before removing successfully migrated installations. It keeps old versions when files are in use or have changed, and restores the previous settings if activation fails.
- Headset relay diagnostics. In Settings, you can now view and copy Headset relay (questpro-live-relay.txt) alongside the other logs. This log is written when a tracking session ends.
- Hybrid controller routing detection. QFT+ finds the headset's controller-routing code by its signature instead of fixed addresses. It checks for a unique match before applying the hook and rejects layouts it cannot identify.
Update
- Stop tracking and finish or cancel any calibration.
- Quit QFT+ from its tray menu and close VRCFaceTracking.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.17-Setup.exe from the assets below.
- Open the installer and select Install.
The installer keeps your saved settings and personal calibration models, prepares the tracking components, and opens QFT+ when ready.
This is a release candidate. The requirements and known limits from rc.16 still apply. Hybrid hands require Virtual Desktop; the headset hook still requires Virtual Desktop Android 1.34.22.0.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.16
This release adds update checks and a choice of tracking modes, improves expression calibration, and fixes gaze and camera-stream interruptions. It includes all features from rc.15.
What changed
- Update checks. QFT+ checks for new releases and shows a notice when an update is available. In Settings, you can check manually or turn automatic checks off. View update opens the release on GitHub so you can read the notes and download the installer.
- Choose what to track. In Setup or Settings, choose Face and eye tracking, Hybrid hands and controllers, or Both. Hands-only mode skips face tracking setup and does not require VRCFaceTracking. Hybrid hands still require Virtual Desktop and pause its body tracking while active.
- More reliable calibration tests. Expression calibration now checks reliably performed relaxed and full poses without letting a single unusual frame decide the result. Halfway and both-cheek poses no longer fail a calibration on their own. Training also improves separation between the two sides.
- Gaze stays steady through blinks. When eye tracking briefly loses a valid sample, QFT+ holds each eye's last gaze direction for up to one second instead of immediately centering it.
- Live camera stream during calibration reloads. Loading new calibration models runs in the background so it no longer blocks the camera stream.
Update
- Stop tracking and close QFT+.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.16-Setup.exe from the assets below.
- Open the installer and select Install.
Setup keeps your saved settings and personal calibration models.
This is a release candidate. The requirements and known limits from rc.13 still apply, except that hands-only mode does not require VRCFaceTracking. The revised calibration checks were evaluated on cheek-puff recordings from two people; other expression groups use the same rules but have not had that validation.
QFT+ 0.4.0-rc.15
This release improves calibration feedback and fixes camera startup and hybrid hand tracking issues. It includes all features from rc.14.
What changed
- Clearer calibration results. When an expression calibration fails its test, QFT+ explains which poses need attention and offers a Try again button. Your current calibration stays in use. The result remains available when you return to the Calibration page.
- More reliable camera startup. QFT+ replaces a stale camera relay file that could prevent tracking from starting. If shared memory cannot be prepared, the startup error and relay log now identify the failed operation.
- Safer hybrid hand tracking. Hybrid startup waits for SteamVR and the Virtual Desktop driver to become available. If SteamVR exits or the driver unloads, QFT+ stops the affected hooks and reports the cause. Cleanup also handles partially completed startup.
Update
- Stop tracking and close QFT+.
- Download QFT-Plus-0.4.0-rc.15-Setup.exe from the assets below.
- Open the installer and select Install.
Setup keeps your saved settings and personal calibration models.
This is a release candidate. The requirements and known limits from rc.13 still apply. Hybrid hands require Virtual Desktop.
