Way of the Sun Soul is now selectable at Monk 3, with three features: Radiant Sun Bolt (Level 3) — A ranged unarmed attack out to 9m that deals your unarmed damage as Radiant damage. A second version spends 1 ki point to hurl two bolts as a bonus action; you can send both at one creature or split them between two. Searing Arc Strike (Level 6) — Expel a cone of fire from your outstretched hands as a bonus action. 2 ki points deal 3d6 Fire damage, and each further ki point raises the spell a level, up to 6 ki points for 7d6, with the higher tiers unlocking at half your monk level. Searing Sunburst (Level 11) — Hurl an orb of light at a point up to 45m away, bursting in a 6m sphere for 2d6 Radiant damage on a failed Constitution saving throw, halved on a success. Spending 1, 2 or 3 ki points raises that to 4d6, 6d6 or 8d6. On the point about the Attack action: none of these are gated behind taking it first. The bonus-action Radiant Sun Bolt costs only the bonus action and 1 ki point, and Searing Arc Strike can be cast on its own. |

Why do you think this should be added?
As of yet there isn't really a ranged monk. Kensei can kinda do it but not really, and Four Elements has extra reach, but none of them are really specifically designed to be playing at range. It's not the most unique or interesting mechanically, sure, but I think it'd be fun to have.
(Also preferably the subclass actions like ranged flurry of blows and BA burning hands wouldn't be tied to the Attack action like they are in XGtE. That was a sweeping change they made in 5.5e that made monk way more fun to play.)
