Welcome to the inaugural release of Subget, a boutique subtitle discovery and download application for Android built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

  • Boutique Cinema Aesthetic: Inspired by high-end media tools like Letterboxd and Infuse. Flat, calm surfaces with zero elevation clash and refined hairline borders (outlineVariant).
  • Unified Obsidian Dark Theme: Full deep #0B0E14 obsidian palette seamlessly shared between all screens and the system navigation bar with zero tonal elevation color distortion.
  • Adaptive Brand Logo: Features an inverted high-contrast white squircle badge for Dark Mode and a crisp dark squircle badge for Light Mode.
  • Micro-Animations & Direction-Aware Navigation: Parallax sliding screen transitions and staggered waterfall card entrance animations.

🔍 Instant Search & Debounced Suggestions

  • Instant Dropdown Suggestions: As you type ($\ge 2$ characters, 350ms debounce), matching movie and TV titles appear immediately in a dropdown card below the search bar with poster thumbnails, release years, and media type badges.
  • Zero API Quota Ingestion: Queries Cinemeta catalogs without touching your SubDL API quota.
  • Exact Match Ingestion: Selecting any suggestion clears the input, hides the keyboard, and queries subtitles with the exact IMDb ID.

📺 TV Series Multi-Season & Cascading Episodes

  • Full Multi-Season Detection: Detects all seasons across catalogs (e.g. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Seasons 1 & 2).
  • Background Season Ingestion: Automatically fetches and deduplicates subtitles across all available seasons.
  • Cascading Season & Episode Menus: Filter by Season (S1, S2) to automatically populate the Episode dropdown with live subtitle counts.

⭐ Poster Card Media Rating & Metadata

  • IMDb / Cinemeta Rating Pill: Vibrant Cinema Gold badge with star icon and formatted rating (e.g. ★ 8.8, ★ 7.0), complete with TalkBack accessibility semantics.
  • Balanced Badge Row: Neutral release year pill, electric teal category badge, and glowing gold rating.
  • Rich Synopsis: Up to 3 lines of plot extract with smooth thumbnail poster caching.

🎚️ Zero-Swipe Filter & Sort Controls

  • Full-Width Proportional Distribution: Filter bar (Sort, Quality, Season, HI) and Language chips (All, English, Arabic, More ▾) stretch edge-to-edge across the screen with zero awkward right gaps or horizontal scroll friction.
  • Quality Tiers: Instant filtering by 4K UHD, 1080p / BluRay, 720p / WEB-DL, or Other releases with live count badges.
  • Client-Side HI Toggle: Isolate or include Hearing Impaired subtitles with one tap.

⚡ Subtitle Management & Sharing

  • Direct ZIP Extraction: Downloads, unzips .srt files on the fly, and archives them locally.
  • Vault & System Share: View downloaded subtitles in your vault or share them directly with media players (VLC, MX Player, Nova).
