FitSend 0.2.1 is the first public Windows preview.

Choose where an image or video is going, and FitSend creates a local, verified copy under that destination's limit without crossing a conservative visual-quality floor.

Highlights

  • Fit images and videos to Discord, email, web-upload, or exact custom KB/MB ceilings.
  • Choose Precise fit, Balanced, or Smallest acceptable.
  • Process mixed JPG, PNG, MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM batches.
  • Verify actual output size, media integrity, and visual similarity before accepting a result.
  • Preserve originals and create collision-safe .fitsend copies beside the source.
  • Work locally; no account or media upload is required.
  • Use bundled FFmpeg and FFprobe for video processing; no separate FFmpeg installation is needed.

Downloads

  • FitSend_0.2.1_x64-setup.exe — recommended Windows installer.
  • FitSend_0.2.1_x64_en-US.msi — MSI installer for managed or manual deployment.
  • FitSend_0.2.1_portable.zip — portable build; extract the whole archive before running FitSend.exe.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt — SHA-256 checksums for every attached asset.

Windows 10 or 11 x64 and WebView2 are required. WebView2 is normally already present on current Windows installations.

Verification

  • 12/12 frontend tests passed.
  • 30/30 media-core tests passed.
  • 56/56 real image/video acceptance scenarios passed.
  • Production frontend build and Rust Clippy with warnings denied passed.

Important preview notes

  • The installers are currently unsigned, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show an unknown-publisher warning.
  • Destination providers can change or experiment with upload limits. The Discord preset in this release intentionally uses a conservative 9.8 MiB target.
  • Batch items are processed sequentially to keep CPU and memory usage predictable.

FFmpeg source and license

The Windows packages include the separate Gyan.dev FFmpeg 8.0.1 Essentials command-line programs under GPL v3. The exact FFmpeg source snapshot (894da5ca7d), build information, GPL text, and distribution notice are attached to this release. FitSend is not affiliated with or endorsed by FFmpeg or Gyan.dev.
