Releases: ZallaxDev/pokeemerald-3Ds-dualscreen
Release list
Alpha 0.1.1
This download does NOT contain the game. You need your own dump of your own
Pokémon Emerald (USA, Europe) cartridge. The builder reads that ROM on this
computer and generates the game's data pack from it. The ROM is not uploaded,
copied or modified, and no Internet connection is needed.
What's new
- The voxel overworld is now optional and off by default. Turn it on with the new VOXEL 3D row in the bottom screen's OPTION screen.
- Voxel camera options: while VOXEL 3D is on, 3D ANGLE (34 to 46 degrees, default 40) and 3D ZOOM (90 to 120%, default 100%) adjust the camera.
- These settings are saved at once in
/3ds/emerald3ds/settings.txt, without saving the game.
Updating from 0.1
- Download
Emerald3DS-v0.1.1-Windows.zipand extract it. - Run
Emerald3DS-Builder.exeagain with your ROM and SD card, and press Install.
What you need
- A Nintendo 3DS / 2DS family console with custom firmware (Luma3DS) and the
Homebrew Launcher. - A clean ROM of Pokémon Emerald (USA, Europe),
SHA-1 f3ae088181bf583e55daf962a92bb46f4f1d07b7. - The console's SD card in this computer (or any folder, to copy by hand).
⚠️ IMPORTANT — SOUND REQUIRES DSP FIRMWARE
For audio to work, your SD card must contain the file:
/3ds/dspfirm.cdc
This file is NOT included with Pokémon Emerald 3Ds Dual Screen.
If dspfirm.cdc is missing, the game may run normally but without sound.
The file must be placed directly inside the 3ds folder on your SD card,
NOT inside /3ds/emerald3ds/.
Correct location:
SD:/3ds/dspfirm.cdc

- Extract this whole ZIP to a folder.
- Run Emerald3DS-Builder.exe.
- Choose your ROM. The builder checks that it is the supported one.
- Choose your SD card (it is detected when it has a "Nintendo 3DS" folder)
or any folder. - Press Install. It writes:
/3ds/emerald3ds/Emerald3DS.3dsx
/3ds/emerald3ds/Emerald3DS.smdh
/3ds/emerald3ds/emerald3ds.pak - Make sure
/3ds/dspfirm.cdcis present on the SD card. - Put the card back in the console and start Pokémon Emerald 3Ds Dual Screen
from the Homebrew Launcher.

never touches it.

Updating
Each release comes with its own builder. Run the new builder again with the
same ROM: a data pack only works with the release that generated it, and the
game tells you when they do not match.
